All About The Onza T-rex Spec 1

Today I went for a ride on my specialized hardrock (house brick edition) and it turned into a 35 mile ride around the North East. All the while I had to try and keep up with my friend who was riding a specialized langster. If anyone doesnt know, that is a very quick road bike that weighs next to nothing and is piss easy to ride.

Anyway, the ride was so fun I decided to sell my hardrock and buy a trials bike... anyone wanna buy a hardrock?

Im thinking for the Money/Not a shit bike ration id go for the Onze T-rex Spec 1 and wanted to know if anyone had anything to say about this?

Id like to know the weight of the bike most of all but if anyone has any other info/opinions or if anyone owns one id love to hear from you about your experiences.. ive seen the bike for £399

erm... ok... the 'for sale' part was actually a joke...

so if you dont think the onza is good what would you recommend? bearing in mind i still want a 26' bike and cant spend more than 400

I new that :$. for the 26 just have a look round tarty bikes or take your time and buy some cheap second hand stuff off the for sale / wtd bit on the forum.

Well i would of thought the Onza t-rex would be a great bike to start of on.

Are you talking about the one on ebay?

Looks like a really good bike for the price (Y)

I can't say i have ridden a onza t-rex but

onza do offer a fairly good range of " budget" bikes that are very suitable for beginners.

I would highly recommend them if your starting off but i would of thought as you progressed you may want to upgrade and get a higher

specced bike. Good luck never the less ^_^ ,

cheers tom

The t- rex is an ideal learner friendly bike. They're very strong, so they can withstand some hammer, and they look very unique now a days( seen as most people have zoo! echo, GU bikes) but when it comes to bigger stuff. ie learning sidehops, the weight can be a down side to the overall performance of the frame. >_<

I had the woodstock spec of this bike and they feel very stable when gapping ect, but for sidehops and any form of natural, i found harder on this than on any other bike that I have ridden. I have now currently got a GU mod and I feel a lot better on this now.

 The rex's are beasts on natural. I simply love it, it just goes wherever i want it to, balance perfectly, and can take a beating if it falls. What more could you want? A little lighter?...

...Drill the two brace arms out (under brakemounts going from chainstay to seatstay) to remove a lot of excess weight.

Or get it pimped up with carbon bars, carbon lever, super pro burns, single speed.... etc. Just like me :D
