Waynio
Jonno will have a super charger for his V6 the electric current is making a current of air so the engine breathes and gets more air. if its a genuine super charger worth a few BHP Waynio........................PS i wanted to super charge my turbo engine, then she would have better cold air feed to her constantly. BUT i seem to have run out of funds
flipkickbs
Check with your insurance first dan, but for that price i rekon go for it, worst case you can sell it back on ebay if it goes to shit? I think you should get your car rr'd before and after though just to see how much it actually does....
Matt_Zoot
A mate of mine bought on of these a couple of years ago and it caused him endless problems. He ended up having to get the ECU re-mapped back to the original settings, his car wouldn't stop puffing blue smoke and only seemed to get power when he didn't want it. That was on a Audi 80.I'd ask about in Vauxhall forums to see if anyone's used one, you'll probably get a decent answer from them.
deanie-b
He ended up having to get the ECU re-mapped back to the original settings.I work at a SEAT dealership, and a bloke came in after fitting one of these himself (one made for Seats). It ended out that he needed his original cool air intake system replaced, his ECU re-mapped, and on top of that he had to pay labour charge. It wasn't good for those who dont have a rather fat wallet as 'Seat Tech' were involved.I dont see why he felt the need to fit one when he already had 180BHP to play with to be honest These things are just more hassle then they're worth I'm afraid. Haz
Looks like fan which sits behind the air filter. Not really a super charger in any sense of the word.

Fish-Finger-er
from my limited experience with them, im under the opinion there hugely hyped up, and very useless, seen them made out of bilge pumps, and pc fans and hyped up as proffessional stuff, and in fact they did bugger all performance wise, other than drain the battery quicker. br3n
Can you not tell from the fact its cheap and on ebay? Why not just go by a "Super mega cool kid chip" from ebay and be done? 40p well spent.(for those who cannot tell, that is.. of course a joke)
Tony Harrison
Yeah, just sounds like a shitty boy racer fad. No doubt there are kids bolting them onto their otherwise standard Corsa and 'claiming' an extra 50BHP.
Walleee
that looks like an air filter off my pitbike with a fan bolted on. infact that's all it is really.I can't believe people actually consider these things....

mcajh
This is probably just as (if not more ) effective than that. Air filter, and lets face it, a max power air filter is going to be pants. I wouldnt put one of those anywhere near my car. If they were any good we would all have them!
br3n
I love that you have an astra/vectra. Just makes the stupidity more believable.
will
Thats a supercharger, driven mechanically from the crankshaft, opposed to a turbocharger which is driven by the exhaust. What you have from ebay, is nothing of the sort! Edited April 16, 2007 by will

What you have from ebay, is nothing of the sort!Thats a type of supercharger, known as a Centrifugal type.Roots superchargers are more expensive, quieter and generally wider used. They look like this:These are the types you'll find on blown AMG engines. Edited April 16, 2007 by N.Wood
