Hi,

Tried searching and even looked on trashzen and cant find any good reliable advise on me peogresing my footjam Whips.

I can get the bike the whole way round almost evrytime but i cant get back onto the pedals i just end up stepping on the floor and getting some nasty shin bites on the way,

Can anybody do them that can help me because i realy want to get this trick nailed.

Thanks

Leo

you're doing what i used to do when i learnt them on my bmx. I found the best thing to do was to stop putting my foot as high to clear the bike, and you have to wait for the bike to come round more before you get ready to hop back in, so don't go for the pedals too early. And when the bike does start to reach the point where you're getting ready to land back on the pedals, remember to keep your weight forward, so that the back end doesn't drop.

Also it may seem like a stupid idea, but when you do go to get on the pedals try to jump back on to them, instead of getting one foot over and on first which upsets the balance. It will catch you out the first few trys, but i found it was the best way to learn them, plus it looks a lot smoother.

Edit: Another thing, which you seem to do anyway, is always keep your eyes on the pedals

And this is a how to but it's for bmxers that are brakeless, either way it's worth a look: Footjam whips
