Magura

Basically, as some of you will know I needed a new brake lever for my rear brake, I contacted magura and was told that it would be sent, just over 2 weeks ago now.

I rang up thursday, (still with no lever), and had one for Friday morning. as you can probably imagine, i'm pretty livid that i've not yet been able to ride through the school holidays, as are my parents cos they've had to listen to be constantly bitching on and generally being a little b*****d about the whole situation.

In short, my parents are very eager to speak to magura regarding some kind of compensatory gesture, can anyone see this going anywhere?

Many thanks at this later then normal hour.

put it short, no. i dont know if the "28 day rule" applies to bike products like this, but most things within the 12 months manufacturers warranty the supplier of the product has 28 days to repair or replace it. but even if this rule doesnt apply to bike bits, i cant see them giving you anything because it took 2 weeks.

Its not the fact that it was two weeks that bothered me really. It's the fact that he said it would be sent that day, and I never recieved it. He later admitted not sending it.

I think thats disgraceful customer service, dont you?

its not great customer service no, but i hate to defend the guy but, how many times have you forgotten to do summat you said you'd do. unfortunately you just gotta put that down to experience, people forget, were human. in the end it still got to you in a resonable time, so i cant see them giving you anything more that an apology.

We are all human indeed.

I just think it is absolutely piss poor that he has it in front of him on a computer screen to send the brake lever, and i still didnt get it for another 2 weeks.

having worked in a similar position in a warehouse (running one). it may seem piss poor, but it usually really isnt as simple as having the screen in front of you and then its done. theres usually a lot more too it than that, then youve got to take other things such as deliveries coming in, jobs being pushed in front of the queue from people higher up, no it doesnt look good, but it happens. he forgot, he apologised and got it sent out there and then when you rang him and he realised. you really cant expect more than that, a mistake was made, it was sorted, still in reasonable time. follow it up, but i think personally your asking a bit much if you want some form of compensation...

Are you American or something...They seem to favour schemeing companies unecessarily.

Stop whining, your probably not the first person, or the last, to have something delievered to them late. No you cannot get compensation, theres no reason why you should. No loss of earnings, no damage caused to you, no injury, nothing, you just missed out on a few weeks of a hobby. Instead of wasteing your time on here, go and ride.

1. I'm not American, but you are a discriminative little shit.

2. I quite clearly asked if you could see this going anywhere, is all. Not for your shit-filled opinion.

2 weeks isnt soo bad, I went 14 including the christmas hols and half term because echo kept sending me usless (glued together) hubs that lasted no longer than 3 days which resulted in the wheel having to be built up 5 times. Dont bother its a waste of time.

Could you of not just bought a second hand magura lever on here and sacrificed a few quid then used it as a spare when the new one came?

still situation sounds a bit shiit but it aint the end of the world

Its not the end of the world at all.

Just terrible service really.

Not looking to upset anyone but your question 'can anyone see this going anywhere?' kind of implys your looking for peoples opinions, and i certainly know that on this and over forums if you ask for an opinion that is what your gonna get they wont lick your arse, so sorry to be a burden but you can't be angry because he gave you a 'shit filled opinion' because he gave you and OPINION.

Cheers, and i hope you can get out riding again ASAP.

1. He's bigger and older than you.

2. "shit filled"? I'm sure thats what most people thoguht when they read your first post. So you had something delivered late, big f**kin deal! He gave you his opinion on whether you should take it further (which is what you asked for). Only person on here who fills the "little shit" criteria seems to be yourself.

Its only a brake lever, i know you've missed out on riding over easter, which is annoying. But unless you specifically asked for something like a 24 hour delivery then you can't do anything. And even if you did, the only thing you could claim back is the cost of delivery as they failed to supply the service you'd paid for... but even that would be a longshot.

In short, no, it isn't going anywhere, so just leave it at that.
