04 Or 05 Maggie Levers

i noticed that some people prefer the 04 levers over the 05's.

i also noticed neil tunnicliffe uses the 04 levers, so i'm guessing their better? or is it just personal preference.

what difference is there?

Yer it is a personal prefence but the 04 levers eventually fall off unlike the 05 and the 05 sends the fluid straight whereas the the 04 sends it sideways, it really makes no difference. O yer and the 04 looks better.

I personally prefer the 05 lever. Feels a lot more solid (But then again I haven't owned a new 04 lever). Also there's a lot of linkages inside the 04 lever from the TPA to the actual piston (more to go wrong), maybe weighs more too.

But saying that, the 04 lever seems a lot more rugged (I've just snapped an 05 lever just by tightening it to the bars too much!).

So all in all they're pretty much the same, just personal preference. I read somewhere the 05 lever gives you more mechanical advantage?

Yer the way to solve that is if the threads do snap then just stick a longer bolt in so it will grab the left over thread but make sure you don't overtighten the longer bolt or you will have to buy a whole new lever and they quite expensive for the 05 ones.

i hate maggies but if i had to choose between the two i would go for the 05, as it looks more modern, im not too sure of any other big difference.

i have got a 05 on my rear with echo leverblade and 04 on front with RnB leverblade but i like the 05 alot more feels so much powerfuler

04's feel better on the fingers, 05's look better and fit the fingers well.
