Captain Scarlet
Its down to personal preference mate.I personally prefer Mod, as its smaller, cheaper and easier in my opinion.I wouldn't mind doing Stock, but at my age I feel too young and too small for a stock, but its something I'd definately consider in the future. Pagie
get out there and ride both see which suits you most! ive ridden 20", 24" and 26" and personally i'd go 24" as in my opinion that was what i was most comfortable on

little bmxer boy
i love stock i have ridden a mod and i find stock moor but it is your choice
pengsmelly
well each stock and mod have there own strength like sidehops are easier on mod but gaps are easier on stock. But its your choice.
Barbra
Depends if you can handle a big bike. They do take a bit more muscling around from my experience, though i think stocks are alot nicer after riding Jonny's at brum yesterday. Mods are easier to learn on and stocks are easier to get good on apparently
harmertrials
As other people have said really... It depends on your height and you're build. The most important thing is not to choose either stock or mod just because you prefer the look of one of them. Almost every trials bike in the UK rides slightly different to any other due to the fact that everyone modifies his or her bikes. I started out on stock and because it was my first 'proper' bike I didn't really no what I should have been looking out for when buying it (i.e. parts and damage wise), but luckily it still managed to get a good deal. After about six months my friend bought an onza t-pro and as soon as I rode that I knew I had to go mod. Since then I have had two decent spec mods and I love them to bits. I am currently 5ft 11" and am considering a change back to stock but I know I don't enjoy them as much and I find them much harder to sidehop whereas a mod you can bounce around and chuck them up obstacles, it has to be said that mod riders aren't as smooth as stock. This leads me on to 24" (yet to be given a nickname?). Probably the smoothest riders you will ever see ride 24" and its a great option if you can't decide on mod or stock. www.tartybikes.co.uk now have some good 24" frames in stock so check them out. alex_jsy
i reckon you'll find mod's much easier to control being about a metre and a half tallmods are easier to throw around, hop up stuff and you'll probably progress quicker using oneAlex
_Owen.
i prefur mods as you can throw them around alot easier! but i think its down to personal prefurance, you need to ride both. i do think at your hight thought mod will be best

T_PRO
I've never riden a stock, but alot of people start off with a mod, then go on to a stock later on when they are more experienced with their techniques.
Simpson
It depends on your height and you're buildSome and some really id say its more personal prefrence... im 6 foot and not a small lad, but my stock was wayyyy too big. I started out on stock which i rode for 2 years upgrading and doing up... since switching to mod in febuary i really wished that i would have started on a mod, there easier and more like a bmx, (which is what i came to trials from) ive been having far more fun and enjoying riding more on a smaller bike. i can go alot bigger with alot more ease.Just get out and try em both
scottkingsbury
i first got into trials when i rod my mates stock i realy liked it so i got 1 and have allways preferd stock as they are much easier ,but its really up 2 you its what u feel cumfortable withhope i helped(Y)
bennyb
well depends on your size and build like others have said. but personally i think mods have less maintenence because the drive chain is less hasel like u have a hanger sometimes gears, but on a mod u can just be freewheel chain cog simple unless your going cassette the maybe but personaly yer mod is easyer. if your tall longer bikes you suit your build and you could throw it round morebut if your small go for short bikes with good room near the stem so u dont bash you caps up ..haha:Dso yer personally mods Thanks bennyb
