Jason222
Alright boys, it's a Canadian here. I just got back from a wicked ride tonight. I absolutely LOVE doing huge bunnyhops up things, I can almost get up a 40 " wall on my Street/DJ type bike. I recently bought an echo control frame (Short) and was wondering what kind of stem I should put on it so that it's a bunnyhopping BEAST. I was thinking a shortish high rising stem? Krisboats
I honestly don't beleive it matters too much. From a theoretical standpoint a shorter stem will be better, but i'm using a 120mm stem with riser bars tilted forwards to get more reach on an onza t-rex and i've bunnyhopped it to around 42-43". You soon get used to it and adapt accordingly. However, yes a shorter stem will make it slightly easier.
Tomm
I think height is the most important thing, rather than length. Get a few stackers under your stem
Joe_Elding
A nice high stem and some backswept bars should do the trick nicely.
Greetings
I used to have a full sus freeride bike, could bunnyhop that over 3ft, the one thing I realized was that a short stem made it much easier to bunnyhop but you couldn't get much height. A long stem gives you more space to hop upwards, but makes lifting the front wheel more difficult. So to sum up, if you've got the power and technique to lift up the front end of a bike with a long stem, go for a long one (anything over 115mm)
John Shrewsbury
HOPE stem, 90/10.Helps me alot with bunny hops, and makes the front end lighter.

poopipe
Unless you've got some sort of stupid setup its 90% technique anyway. Higher bars definitely means it's easier but you're unlikely to add more than a couple of inches by switching parts alone.
Rusevelt
Shoulnt matter as long as your technique is dialled. Edited April 14, 2007 by Rusevelt
planet x alan
if its too high you will have trouble levelling the bike out in mid air... well i did when i put a high rise stem on my old planet x.
