Davetrials
This is true... although I think disc mounts should be categorised:Disc mounts, and disc mounts that are actually usable and not just a waste of aluminium! (KOT, Simtra and MBK of recent frames off the top of my head.)monty..old skool megamo mounts, aka beastys.
Joe Sheehan!
Aww I thought BTs would be good. Still going to build one up, probably a raven 5.0.With an Avid Ultimate on the back and a BB7 up front
spode@thinkbikes
haha ok sorry, well put it this way ive had a pashley ghz and since that got stolen and 06 saracen super team pro thingy both about 1040 wb and 0/+10 bb so short and low, i dont think i could get used to a bike over 1065mm. think i might have to save for a bt, as no one else is making frames with that sorta geo and discs I thought I'd never get used to a longer bike, but frankly, I think there is too much emphasis put on the bike geometry. You'll get used to whatever you ride, you just learn to compensate for things. You can always do things like fiddle around with stems and handlebars to make it feel different. The Simtra I'm moving to (next weekend if all goes well!) is 1080mm. Compared to the 1010 of the Zero (which I was very comfortable on) that's quite a difference! I personally find BB rise more distruptive to style than I do length. Unfortunately, going down the dual disc route does limit the choice of frames significantly. Even more so in your case where you want something short. I think/hope that companies are realising the gap in the market and starting to cater for us.The Megamo suggestion isn't a bad one, I know of someone with one and it's not a bad ride at all! Simon
My ES4 is 1015mm. Was so shocked when i measured it the other day. Think i've got my heart set on a 7.0 in white, so will be purchasing one next week.
