Simon
Evening. My bikes got to the point where i need to pretty much replace all of it, and i've got my eyes on this new Raven. In white of course.Anyway, has anyone actually ridden one? I've not seen one anywhere. Also, with 20mm bottom bracket rise, do i need a higher stem as well? Ash-Kennard
i personally don't like the ravens si, but if you can get over how they look then yeah they do ride alright. although the one i breifly rode was a short (sam thaites') one. i personally think you would be better off on a short/long control, much better looking and have and awesome reputation for not breaking
The Hitcher
NOt sure how they ride but my mate has one, Ask ALEX in the NMC hes got a red one, got it the other day. I'm going to head out this weekend and have a ride on it. They look ok, bit boring though. The 6.0 rides allright, cant say im a fan of higher bb's though. Yeah and they may break, alex has broke like 2, the 5.0 and 6.0, already, so the new 7.0 will be his third i think. Simon
Is it not almost exactly the same as a Control, which everyone bums the hell out of? Wheelbase: 1055-1085mm adjustableChainstay Length: 370-385mm (with rim brake), 365-395mm (with disk brake).BB Rise: 20mmHead Angle: 72 degreesCentre of BB shell to top centre of head tube: Estimated 660mm (26")Wheelbase: Short 1060mm, Long 1080mmChainstay Length: 375mmBB Rise: 20mmHead Angle: 72 degreesCentre of BB shell to top centre of head tube: Short 655mm (25.75"), Long 675mm (26.5")Zona? The pitbull copy one? f**k that, that thing looks aweful. If you mean another one, what one? Don't keep up with that shit to much.I don't want high bottom bracket though, 20mm is my limit, having ridden high bottom brackets, and my 0 rise, i genuinely believe 20mm is just about perfect. TomN
He meant the XTP look a like one. Which came with a free Chris King headset when you purchase thee frame.
craigjames
yeah he meant the zenith i believe. sorry to semi hijack the thread, im lookin for a frame of the same sort at the mo myself. apart from the bt7, what frames are there witha 1060 or under (short) wb with 10-20mm bb rise with a decent disc mount i want to go dual disc.and what exactly is wrong with the bt, i think it looks nice, the tensioner looks great and the geo appears for what i'd want, spot on. spode@thinkbikes
I was really torn on this. I was going to go for the Bt Raven 7.0 because I loved the horizontal drop-outs and disc mount. But in the end I went for the Simtra, because of the 40mm disc mount. I didn't want to run an adapter on the rear

m4rko
Bt ravens have become seriously overpriced. And 7.0 looks like sh!t.I'd go for a control.

I mean, 1065 (KOT) is probably short by today standards. But when I measured my Orange Zero a few years back, that was 1010 with a rear disc! The new ashton frame has a rear disc mount, as does the Zhi frame. But I'm unsure on the geometry of either of them.I can't beleive you guys don't like the look of the Raven 7.0! I think it looks awesome, but then beauty is in the eye of the beholder
AdamR28
The new ashton frame has a rear disc mount, as does the Zhi frame. This is true... although I think disc mounts should be categorised:Disc mounts, and disc mounts that are actually usable and not just a waste of aluminium! (KOT, Simtra and MBK of recent frames off the top of my head.)
