poopipe Posted April 12, 2007 Report Share Posted April 12, 2007 (edited) take it to the shop - it's unlikely you've knackered the disk (unless it dropped a long way) but it's not a good idea to piss around with the cables if you don't know what you're doingit'll be refusing to start up because the disk is missing so don't worry about that for now. rocks370 Posted April 12, 2007 Report Share Posted April 12, 2007 the orange cable may just be the power cable.on all the laptops i have worked on the actuall "data" connection is about 30 pins sticking out of the drive that slots into a plug.I would say find a local PC shop cos PC world will rip you off (unless its still under warrante).Hard drives can withstand a drop as long as its not in operation.hope this helps.hang on are you talking about the CD drive or hard drive ?
