N.Wood
You need to bed it in.Get some water in a bottle and out it down the bottom of hill.Ride to the top.Turn around.Ride down with your brake on.Pour water on your disk at the bottom.Repeat. Ghetto Rider
I bought me one of these!Took it about 2 hours to bed in, didn't use dirty water or anything! - Just rode around know and then with my finger lightly on the brake and after a couple of hours was perfect!Don't rush it, be patient and it'll work! Ash-Kennard
no joke, after bedding in get a new lever, i suggest the sd7 availiable from tartybikes for only 11 quid, made the world of difference to mine.
harmertrials
I'm currently having problems with my hope mono mini disk brake: It has a goodridge hose, a new bore cap, a new top cap, also has fresh pads and a new bleed. It has cost me over £200 and it just wont hold. I've tried all sorts and now I’m giving up and going back to a magura. I know its not a trials specific brake but I thought a mono mini would hack it, obviously not.
N.Wood
Do the same as i suggested for the Avid and see what happens. If its a 165mm rotor on a stock it won't be able to handle the forces no matter what you do with it.
Grant H
putting mud or dirty water on the disc always worked for me just wash it off with water afterwards.
Boswell
I agree with a lot of people in this topic bed the break in(as explained well by N.Wood), also you can put some lubricant like WD40 or grease down the cable to get a better pull and response. If you do the thing with hill and water you can put a glaze on your pads and that will make your brake worse. I have found just letting it bed in by itself to be the best. Also change your leaver to a sd7 they are better.
tom 20
Huh , but don't most people do this method and they find that this makes their brake better.

N.Wood
It'll be touch and go then.... the Mini Mono brakes arn't the most powerful and even after they're bedded in properly they may not be powerful enough.Possibly get a larger rotor or buy a mono trials caliper. mini-yanni
ride it and the brake will naturally start working.there is probably something written above or in the small print about it takes 50 stops or so to get it going...
macy`d
as long as it is set up properly then all it needs is to be bedded in just Cain down a hill and put it on
