SomeoneNew
Right my hope mono decided to give up the ghost yesterday, I've been using the search and trying to figure out the cheapest way to sort the problem!Would a dmr revolver with an acs claw be suitable and durable enough to at least last until the middle of the summer, or would I be better off spending the extra that i dont have and getting a tensile? ooh and also if I was to get either of the freewheels, which kmc kool chain would fit, the 1/8th or 3/32 ?Any help would be great! Broomer
Robin (Dontyouhate...) uses the DMR setup with the ACS and it is still going strong. it would last you quite a while ide imagine.

RobinJI
Yeah, as Broomer said I have an ACS on a revolver. When I got it I took it apart and put a small piece of elastic band inside each spring, and cleaned out all the grease, replacing it with just WD40. Works amazingly. Hasn't skipped on me or come loose since I got it in October. Also when you get the freewheel, because there BMX freewheels you actually get options! (unlike trials one where u get 18 tooth, 3/32 or nothing) So you can pick either the 1/8th or 3/32th one. Although I run an 1/8th Kool chain on a 3/32th ACS and its fine.So yeah, unless your a weight freak go for it. And even if the ACS does pack up, its just a freewheel, unscrew it, bin it and get a new one.
SomeoneNew
Thats ace, thank you very much!! What was the elastic band bits for? and by putting a little bit inside each spring, did you mean through the centre? sorry for all the questions! just want to get the best outa the little cash I have!! RobinJI
erm... u know the springs are kinda like an R shape? well I put the pieces through the middle. So that they don't push the spring out any further than normal, but while it is being pushed, it's more powerful. Don't know if its helped, but I know my freewheels been awesome, and it's not gunna damage anything is it. (oh yeah, I used a square out of a flat ribbon shaped rubber band, not a skinny one.) moza
if you get an acs, get the welded version so it doesnt come loose(Y) just make sure you keep it lubed up because they cant be rebuilt lol
Dan6061
The lockring on my old ACS seized up, then I sold it to Biff. - He said it was mint! until he raped it.
