imo depends on whether or not you have the steel driveshell.... When i had a standard alu one on my king and used just a standard cog it dug in and left indents on the grooves. Then bout 5 or 6 years ago my king got the steel driveshell and im stil using a standard size cog with no indents watsoever.

If you just have the alu .... then either use a king cog or one of the other wider based ones. Or imo get a steel driveshell (Y)
