Savage
Decided to make a new post as the 1st one has gone political.I will be at Bracken Rocks on Saturday, staying over for Sundays event. A lot of new riders are expected as no licences are required, so you can turn up and have a go without any red tape.On an informal basis, are there any newcomers to Trials that would like a little tuition? I'll be on site with other Trialsman team members and can help with any riding problems you may have. PM or email me if your interested.Ben. Savage
O.K. back to the subject of the post.If you've entered Sundays comp and you are on site on Saturday the organisers won't object to yu having a roll around on the lower rocks, ?may be they should tape off a practice area?I'll be there from about 3 o'clock onwards, any new riders having problems with a move - feel free to ask.Ben. sexymike
Does this event have Anything to do with the Official governing body for BIU Comps in the UK or in any way related to the Worlds pointing system?

dave85
Don't dodge the question, I havent seen a clear answer anywhere. To put it in a non-political context, if I ride in the trial, will I get ranking points and will I be eligible for selection for worlds rounds?EDIT: (put this in to avoid any whining) Seeing as you're close to the organiser and best placed to answer this, I thought this was the best place to ask this question. Waynio
Mike no it doesnt, it is to do with "independance" of Bike Trial. the way our sport should be.Turn up have fun and enjoy yourself.and Bens offered to lend a hand to people who need a hand over coming something they are struggling with. See you saturday eve, by the time i get there you will have finished tutoring for the day. Laura needs a hand balancing and back hopping Waynio........................ Davetrials
Sorry to sound silly here, but what does idependant biketrial mean?
Mark W
A snazzy way of saying "fall out at the top"?
Davetrials
what the hell does that meanahem.
Mark W
Basically, one of the BiketrialUK/UKBiketrial organisers are with the ACU, and the others aren't. As a result, one is apparently "Independent", and one apparently isn't "Independent".Because of the total lack of communication from the people at the top, I'd suggest you don't bother waiting for an answer Dave and just ride whichever venues you like riding whenever there's a comp there, pretty much. Comps are fun 99% of the time, so just get along and ride. Obviously there's gonna be issues like worlds points qualifications 'n' stuff, but the majority of people on here aren't really going to care about that, so just go out and ride 'em. Waynio
Exactly they dont collide (therefore more competitions for every one who wishes to compete)it seems odd there is only 2 brit champ rounds though. and 5 nationals already booked and sorted there probably will be more brit rounds to come though (i think)Waynio............................ kelly farm trials
A full official british championship will be announced within 10 days. We currently have seven firm offers of rounds with venues covering the country. For some reason at the moment we are being swamped by people who want to help. At the moment the plan is best five from six. Some people will be disapointed that they dont get a round. When you are running a british championship ,you have a responsability to cover the country, and although your dates should have preference, it is polite to try to avoid clashes with events that are close to you.
