PaRtZ
OK new disc frame, setting up all going well except...ive come to do disc alignment + chain tension using snail cams. Basically I want the disc as far in the dropout as Possible to give maximum coverage of the brake pads on the disc surface, BUT my chain becomes floppy, but not enough to remove a link Im going to try a different chain for now, but if that doesn't work, is my only option a tensioner? thanks...any suggestions most welcome
Alexxx
Can't you whack a half link chain on? instead of having a tensioner?Alexxx

PaRtZ
ok well after arsing around for the last 3 hours trying to sort it, heres some answersfirstly the KMC + KHE are pretty much the same lengthI tried making a KMC half link but the pin wouldn't stay inSo using the KHE split link I had, I made a half link on the KMC chain because its slightly thinnerThe resultGreat chain line, chain is tight about 4mm away from the back of the dropout which means plenty of pad coverage. But now the next problem: The disc is wonky in the caliper i.e. one side of the pads hit the disc before the other. At first you'd think that I've tensioned the two with major differences but they're both the same distance in the dropout. so WTF is it wonky!? Never mind, looks like im not going on the ogwen ride tomoz....
Reece B
dont you have to put those little washers in between the frame and the caliper? to get the disk in the center.or am i being thick? lol

Oh and depending one your caliper, there might be a bolt to move the static pad. All of this is assuming you have a mech caliper...

It was on my megamo so maybe the widths are different? Also can I run my caliper with a washer on one bolt and not on the other?
