Seems like he's so bothered about saving weight so he may get bored like you did .Oh yeah, Dave, Tarty Bikes stickers are lighter than Select Bikes one's hahaha...Cheers,Joe.haha shit, we'll have lightweight sticker sets available soon then Just get a lighter front tyre, loose the mech and get a tensioner, get rid of the DH tube you have in, that must be so heavy, get your zoo cranks on which you have and get some lighter pedals. basher
So what's the riding for?!Get V brakes?Or to take another approach, borrow a dirt jump bike or something for a day then the change back will be amazing...Im guessing vees are heavier after you accounted for adapters and may be cnc backings. trials rules
Pah you all stole my witty ideas! If you're like me, you'll have your hand right at the end of the grips..cut them off to make them as small as possible.Cut off side knobbles on tyres.Use half the number of spokes? Mr Motivator
Lighter front tyre, lighter back tyre, foam grips, strip all the paint, more holes in rims, radial spoke pattern on non drivesides, loads of things you can do.Then work on your body, do you need ears to ride? No, cut them off. Don't need toes either, or kidneys (which you could sell), eyebrows, hair, fingernail beds removed.Thats just silly now. XPbIM3
as it has been already said:gat a lighter chain, lighter tyres(or just another front tyre, back one you have seems ok to me),get rid of rear mech....
eskimo
rite ive filed 1.2 of all the tubing but it didnt work so i stuck it back onnemore ideas, not quite as sensible as poopipes. It would actually save you more weight than you think. My guess around 200 grams which is a fair bit from a frame.Rear tyre - get an IRC ElGato, they weigh under 800g and are quite snakebite-proof. Only caught one on mine in about 8 months and it's got almost no thread left.No way. You must run some pressure in that tyre. I remember a rim out meant a flat when i rode them.Bottom Bracket. Try-all seem to be rather light. Also FSA ones seem even lighter than most.Pedals. Not sure what to recommend but my Shimano Dx's are around 400grams. Like said ti axles...Lighter chain. Thiner innertube.Ti parts or/and hollow bolts.
Joe Sheehan!
Err, loose the mech, make an ultra lightweight tensioner, make it so it tensions the chain upward which means less links. Lightweight skewers, carbon bars maybe Also, Change the rear rim and fill the tyres with helium. (only saying that because nobody has done it before). Although, as the helium molecules are small, they will escape the tubes and you will have to fill it back up quite regularly. Also, i can't tell from the pic, but cut down the steerer if you havent already. And possibly a smaller front brake. Maybe a different BB aswell, but thats all i can think of.
