ogre
How'd you get warn taken away? I'm with fatpants on the "after so much time" it goes byebye
eskimo
So your warn can get taken away if your good?Yes but it helps if your generally a friendly person anyway. It shouldn't really matter if you stay out trouble as there won't be any chance of your warn level going up. Plus no one knows if you've been warned either. Greetings
In my understanding it's mostly people who make useless posts all the time that quick_spider is talking about. It'd be a really boring place if every post contributed to the topic. We'd probably have to use some kind of contributometer which would check our posts for pointless information. And yeah, warn can be taken away. I got some for posting porn, then it was taken away for posting links in reference posts

Boswell
Why do people post topics containing BUMP, why not put somthing more constructive like for example "I posted this topic a while back and still no one has given me the information i want, can someone please help me". Si-man
Usually people use bump in the for sale section to get their topic to the top of the page if it has slipped off the first page, or to get people who are supposed to be buying items to spot the topic and get their acts together... tomturd
Rules are rules..Consistently make useless/spam/non-contributary posts to a thread and you will get warned, simple as.Couple of reasons.1. Useless posts cost us money. Probably 20% of posts on here are spam. If people didnt make them, then people would not read threads as often, load on our server would be lower and we wouldn't need as good a server- which would be cheaper. In other words, spam costs us money.2. Its annoying checking a thread you've just read, which has a new reply only to find the reply is total crap.3. Making a post for the sake of making a post is.. pointless, so why do it? Use MSN if you just want to talk shit.As for Grant H, you can continue with your opinion but maybe you should realise that that opinion may be linked to why you are still in new members.. Andeee
Personally i agree about these pointless topics that weirdos are posting ive just noticed some which have been closed and moved. Also i got a 10% warn for advertising my local bikeshop in my signature just regarding the name of the company and what they are specialist dealers in its not as if i am doing a for sale topic im only advertising to attract more buisness from forum users who would like to try a different company. Grant H
I didn't realise that was the case... am I doing it now? I'm getting paranoid!basically every post uses a bit of bandwidth (think of it as a hard drive for a website, once its full the site gets suspended till it has got more bandwidth)so if more and more people post pointless stuff then TF will need more bandwidth, which is more money.so if theres no use to the post then dont post what you were going to say. The only similarity is that the general volume of it can be used up, but then if your going to use that as a basis for a comparison you could say bandwidth is like a jam jar, breakfast bowl, fridge, homeless persons sleeping bag or even like a dustbin getting filled up with random crap. mad max
Sorry to bring this post up again but i don't really understand, please help me out.Question?I use this forum on a regular basis, and to great effect. Thank you to everyone that has helped me out.But i use the search facility often and get the answers i require, hence not many post.witch i assume will not build up validation points. So i use the search and it counts against me. Do you get awarded validation points for using the search facility?
Walleee
Im on 10% warn, apparently for 'spam'Someone started a topic to which I had something to add, when I did they ended up PMing me asking me to remove what I had posted. I edited my post's (probobly about 2 or 3 with 'nice bike' (think it was a bike pics thread) and ended up getting the warn AFTER I had made the edit.so = I edited in an effort to remove a 'useless post' but was then warned for 'spam'.Hardly fair when we can't delete our own post's????Should I have simply left my original post's up and caused aggro but would not have recieved a warning because technically my post's then wouldn't have been 'spam'?????? Your best bet is to post helpful and positive comments when best possible. Keep your spelling and gramma up together and you be a member soon. The Admins are keeping a close eye on NMC it appears so i wouldn't worry too much.
