Basically I have seen an increasing number of guitar pro tabs cropping up on the internet. But I believe I'm right in thinking that it's software you have to pay for? What I want to know, is it any good first of all? Secondly, are there any ways around paying? I'm thinking open source alternatives etc. Does anyone use it? Dan Clark Posted April 3, 2007 Report Share Posted April 3, 2007 Guitar pro is an awesome program, much more sophisticated than power tab, but yeah you do have to pay for it.Guitar pro 5 can also open up power tab files too, so you get an amazing choice of tabs.Whatever you do, don't search "guitar pro 5 torrent" in google, because it WILL NOT, give you any results. It allows you to listen to the tab as well as read it so you can make sure it sounds correct...I downloaded a 'Legal' version ( ) when i bought my laptop last year. I can't remember where i got it. I may have a password you can use but will have to check when I get home and let you know as I'm at a friends at the moment. So will update later. Why would you have so many?I was just searching for guitar pro on newzbin and they were there, only 120mb so thought why not I lasted about 3 days of learning guitar, I've since moved on to tin whistle which is much easier.
