scousertrials
Iv'e just been out on my new build and to my suprise, pads were on the limit. I had a fresh grind and didn't do much stuff (well , I went down a steep hill). How long does it take you to go through a set of maggie pads? ogre
why did you go down a hill dragging a brake on a grind though
scousertrials
If I never I would of traveled down the hill like a Howitzer. Done the same hill before with Magura red pads and no problem!

Krisboats
So with a fresh grind, you dragged your brake which was fitted with relatively soft pads all the way down a hill and wondered why your pads had worn?..... Let me think Never heard of the old stick your shoe on the tyre and slow yourself down trick?
RR_Trials
why did you go down a hill dragging a brake on a grind though Even so shouldn't have worn down that quick?

craigjames
yeah a few miles long and then you might expect them wear that quick!
Deonn h
It's your own fault you carnt expect to look round at your pad after youve been down a hill dragging your brake when youve just had a grind and still see a reasonable amount left lol. Has anyone seen my shoe?
Dont forget he had also been riding them before.
JT!
rimjams. My cousin did that with his rimjams on a smooth rim.Nothing left when he got to the bottom. On the old rimjams (i'm assuming that's what your talking about) the clips have a tendancey to break, and then the pad wobbles about and they wear down easier like that. scousertrials
Your right. I had the older ones before and they came apart when I was stoping to let a bus past, I went into the side of the bus. luckily the bus had slamed on! Matt24.
I can only imagine it was everest he went down with an uber sharp grind. It still seems odd it has worn down so quickly, just out of curiosity what pads were they?Matt

mettam1988
1)trials pads are soft2)soft pads wear quickly3)grinds increase friction meaning pads wear down more quickly than usual4)dragging brakes wears pads down really quicklydo the maths. if u ride a trials bike u expect the pads to wear down quickly. no way round it im afraid. Todge
if u ride a trials bike u expect the pads to wear down quickly. no way round it im afraid.I disagree!Vee brake, on a light grind. My heatsinks have worn about 3mm in nearly 18 months. (and it works f-ing awesomely)
