Worn Down Pads

So with a fresh grind, you dragged your brake which was fitted with relatively soft pads all the way down a hill and wondered why your pads had worn?..... Let me think

Never heard of the old stick your shoe on the tyre and slow yourself down trick?

rimjams.

My cousin did that with his rimjams on a smooth rim.

Nothing left when he got to the bottom.

On the old rimjams (i'm assuming that's what your talking about) the clips have a tendancey to break, and then the pad wobbles about and they wear down easier like that.

1)trials pads are soft

2)soft pads wear quickly

3)grinds increase friction meaning pads wear down more quickly than usual

4)dragging brakes wears pads down really quickly

do the maths.

if u ride a trials bike u expect the pads to wear down quickly. no way round it im afraid.
