Al_Fel
Glad you're bearing up ok mate, just keep taking easy (I know you will), and don't fall of your other bike!!BTW, do you ever go to Rampworx without your bike to catch up with your mates? Thinking about bringing my camera over one evening soon, now that I've got a decent flash. Would feel like a bit of a dick on my own as I don't really no anyone...If you go to rampworx with your camera feeling bits of dicks then i'm pretty sure you'll get arrested. That comment no matter how predictable had to be made.get well soon bongo you gummy fishing twat. BONGO
errrrrrr, i'm off to A&E tonight. I may have snapped it again...That's all i know. I was kind of told that i could BEGIN to ride again, as in, i can start rolling. The other doc said i couldn't get back to any kind of normality. Friday night and i was rolling around. Nothing at all 'good', but i ended up dropping only about 4 feet to both feet. My legs couldn't hold me up and i bend right down. It was too much for my leg and i THINK i heard a click. I know i felt it, but thinking back, i think i actually heard it with my ears, but can't be 100%.It didn't hurt too much to be honest, although it has swelled similar to when i did it, and now feels similar. Needless to say, i'm very scared right now...Been to see my physio just then and i gotta go to A&E and get a fast track to the CT scan front of the que becasue of the history of my knee. Nobody can see anything without the scan. It could be the biggest lesson i ever learnt. I'm extremely annoyed, but i still know that i didn't do anything i wasn't allowed to do. I quite obviously shouldn't be on the bmx now. I am fine to ride it, but i don't have the strength to fall, so i shouldn't be on it yet.If i have done it again, basically i'm f**ked bigtime. Let's all hope for my knee eh.Update when i know anymore...( i know it's on a public forum, but anyway, i've actually said quite an ellaborate but realistic and believeable story which would turn what could be classed as a wanker type of injury, into an unfortunate set back type of injury, from the doctors point of view.)Bongo

Token
How come when you injured your knee the first time you didn't get it fixed properly? Was it just a case of wanting to get back out riding which didn't give it time to heal properly and now it's majorly arseholed because of that. Or have you done the same injury more than once even after it healed back to almost full health.

I did it 21st June 2006 and had to wait till march this year for the op. I'm 6 months post op now.Bongo
hill_393
Hey Dude;Good Luck, as we've spoken before and I know EXACTLY what you are going through. Going through it myself!! Have a Medial an Lateral Ligament Reconstruction with 1 Synthetic and 1 Doner Tendon Ligament approx 5 weeks ago, and am only now starting to go through the harsh physio! At the time of writing this, I've just got back from a very painful session, and now pretty much have a bend in my knee of straight to 125 Degress, which 5 weeks on, I'm pretty chuffed with.I'm going to hear on the 19th November if I'm going to have my Cruciate Ligaments Reconstructed..... Nervous now!!Get well soon dude, and I wish you all the very bestDarren

JDâ„¢
well wishing from me. i never saw the original thread, but having read the whole way through then realising the dates I'm a little worried for you. Hope it's just a scare and the body doing what it should be, i.e. healing and protecting you from doing the same thing again.J
BONGO
Well the X rays showed that there was no bone damage, which i was almost certain with anyway. It also showed the bolts/clips that hold the new ACL in place. They were as they should be. My knee cap was in the wrong place though. But it was moving freely and was put down to the swelling causing it to sit over to the side, which makes sense. This isn't actually good new though, becasue it means the problem is something else. That's all i know atr this stage. It'll be a while before i know. I need another MRI or CT scan to see whats happened.Bongo
JDâ„¢
Most likely just your body reacting differently to a fall you could easily have taken back in the day. I.e. it knows its just had an intrusive surgery and also taken a knock, its more likely to swell up quicker to save the same thing happening again. You will most likely swell up quicker on that side for a couple of years yet. My feelings are that you will be fine, and I'll hope thats enough to make it true!J

What will be will be! No point worrying when it's unchangeable (Y)Everything is alright in the end. I didn't have to have quite as extreme surgery as yourself, but every time i fall since then I can't walk for a few days. It used to get SWOLLEN, but now it just gets swollen. Perhaps I was just lucky, but because of my experience I believe there is hope for you yet. Good luck for the next scans, and I hope that i'm not wrong! BONGO
pretty bad night for me... I'm quite sure i've just snapped my acl again...Simple fall tonight and my leg went totally ther wrong way. It was the most painful thing that has ever happened to me. Far more painful than the previous most painful thing, which was when i originally did it! I basically lay there and screamed for a minute or two while squeezing the life out of a friends hand and leg lol, then the body kicked in and sent a shit load of drugs around me cooling the pain off anf allowing me to lay there calm and sweaty! As i fell, i heard something snap and felt a very fast series of crushes and clicks. I haven't been to the hospital yet, as i'm partly daft, partly tired, and partly sick of the fact that they treat you like shit, know f**k all, and can't do anything except X ray it when you go to A&E, which cannot see cartilage or ligament damage, which i know it is, if anything.I think myself, after the last time, and other times sinse when i've hurt it, that i've pulled the donar ligament i had put in, through the hole, so that it is either torn or moved, which is not good at all.Fingers crossed, i'll see how it is over the next few days.Bongo
