mat hudson
i snapped my acl september time last year, got my op in april for a reconstruction. after initially snapping it my knee has dislocated at least 5 times. its really weak, i've even dislocated it slipping on a polished floor. its hard to convey how painful it is to re dislocate it. by the sounds of it, it has snapped again. anyway, hope yoiu get it sorted. JTM
You silly f**king gummy idiot. Its probably the excess weight since youve been eating chicken and bee pizzas for 6 months and your shitty spaz leg couldnt take the extra mass. Cant believe it matey. Felt sick for you reading that. Will you be in ozzy or at home or summat? We will pop down to poke your knee for a bit??On a lighter note I thought this was f**king hilerious, I just had this image of it being stuck to your cheek instead of in your leg:My knee cap was in the wrong place though. balfa
I feel for you mate. I snapped my ACL a while back and had same OP as yourself. i'm shit scared when riding now. I have fallen awkwardly on the bad knee since and damaged it slightly but thankfully still going strong. Its scarily easily to do. Out of interest how much rehab did you do? First post was only March so can't of been long. If you've snapped it again take your time rehabbing it and get a decent physio & rehab program. Most physios are crap. I was lucky and had access to a physio and strength and conditioning coach that deal with professional athletes day to day. I'm continuing to rehab my knee in the gym about 16months since surgery.Good Luck!
BONGO
right, little update. I went to see my surgeon today. He said, after looking at my knee, moving it around, pressing, squeezing, bending and hitting it, that it's 50/50 whether the ACL is snapped or not. My fear of it pulling through the Tibia isn't true as at this stage, 10 months post op, the bone has healed completely to the new ligament and so it's weak point is the meat of the ligament exposed, much the same as in a normal knee with it's original ACL.I am getting a queue jump for an emergency MRI scan, and will then know if i've done it again. I am 99% sure in myself that i have. I'm no doc, but i know how it felt and i heard a snap so...At least it's a nice bonus if it's not broken, but it will be!If i need it again it could be one of two things. Both better than i thought. It could be a case of having an exploritory op to take a look and prepare the knee for a later op, which would take place 4 - 8 weeks later to do the reconstruction, which would result in a same plan as if it were a 1st reconstruction with a year recovery. The second way that it could be done depending on how my knee looks after the scan, is that it would all be done at once, which would obviously be preferable.Either way, it's not good. I need to have my hamstring taken from my good leg this time, as it's already been used from my bad leg. If i have done it, there isn't a chance i'll ride bmx again. Cross your fingers for me eh!Bongo

BONGO
wahooooooooo!!!!Scan shows clear!!! No acl damage, but torn meniscus on outside of knee. BUT, 10% of scans are wrong so for 100% clarity he needs to see with his eyes. Waiting till 18th April to see how it is. If any problems then he will do the arthroscopy within a month from that date and then know 100% either way.But he thinks it's fine to run, swim, gym, cycle, etc, but specifically told me no backflips or jumps!! Haha. I'm sooooooooooooooooooooooooo happy!!!
