Greetings
monty = light + good qualitydeng = heavy (and i mean really heavy) + not so good qualityYou do realize that Monty and Echo group components are made in the same factory by the same people?I really doubt that the people working there would do a good job of monty frames and then say "oh wait a sec, this is going to be an adamant, let's gobble up some sake and then get down to welding it".This is not the case with newly started companies, Zhi were terrible when they branched in and now they're fine.EDIT: and one more thing, Monty aren't at all that light! Fair play, they do make a sub 9kg mod but that's a competition bike. The standard build Pr is about 10kgs and the 231Ti is over 12kg. My Adamant weighs 10,3kgs with 780g pedals. I love Montys, had a few in the past and they were great, but all of them cracked. The only one that didn't crack in my hands was a 221Ti which cracked a week after it changed its owner... Monty99
LMAO, deng is really light, strong, good quality, cheap.Monty is light, weak, bad quality, expencive.Oh dear.. Lol.Matyou are serious??just a few facts:Monty Pro 07 Frame: 1,9 kg,disc mount yes!, 179£Echo Team 07 Frame: 2,08 kg, disc mount no...299£(in Germany)Monty X-Lite ISIS cranks: 64£, 362gAdamant ISIS cranks (one length wtf?): 122£, 537gI ride a few Deng products aswell: Fork, Stem, Booster, Zoo-Handlebar (best bars ever!!)I just said that there are too much Deng parts IN MY OPINION / FOR MY TASTE on that AdamantI didnt say Asia products are shit, deng is shit, the Adamant in this thread is shit
Greetings
Monty Pro 07 Frame: 1,9 kg,disc mount yes!, 179£Echo Team 07 Frame: 2,08 kg, disc mount no...299£Oh dear lord. 2,08kg including bashplate. The PR without one weighs 1,94kgs (weighed it myself) and an eagle claw bash is 182g (also weighed it myself 2 minutes ago). The price elasticity of demand for Deng frames is very high and so the prices will be high. It's quite simple, why should they be sold for 200 if people will buy them for 300? As for cranks, they're made out of a much better grade of aluminum, are forged and then CNC'd and finally anodized. Monty 221Ti's (which also only come in one length!) aren't. 231Ti's are and I can't see them being cheaper than Adamants. Seriously dude, if you compare something, don't compare a Fiat to a Mercedes. Also, making a disc mount doesn't cost much more, nor does it weigh anything. There are reasons why companies don't make them. With Deng it's because he doesn't think he can make a tab that will last as long as his frames.EDIT: The expensiveness of Monty comes in when you buy something with two letters after the model: "Ti"Bars and stem each for ~60 quid? A 231Ti for 550? I happen to deal in Monty parts this end and can tell you that the price tag of a 231Ti in the UK is much more irrational than of a Team. Greetings
(In australia)Was just browsing some Australian BT website, your prices are stupidly low Probably something to do with the shipping costs from China being low?
mikey23
Was just browsing some Australian BT website, your prices are stupidly low Probably something to do with the shipping costs from China being low?Who knows?Or maybe cause we value $1 the same as what you would value 1 pound? Or perhaps you guys have hefty import tax or something, and yeh probably shipping costs aswell.
