ruption0
Has anyone had the problem of there onza bb breaking really quickly or needing to be replaced for some reason? Edited March 18, 2007 by ruption0
liam_thornton
By breaking do you mean snaping or what?Because what happed to my bb the axle/spindle kept sliding through the cups so the freewheel would rub against the cups, but if you hit it with a hammer or mallet it would go back through, but after a while it would rub again. flas12345
after around 5 months my started to creak and make horrible noises and then i did a drop one day and it just snapped clean in half. all the bearings was crushed up. pesonally i think they are rubbish, now i have echo cnc cranks though so i am now running a isis bottom bracket and they are way better.cheers lou. harmertrials
I think my next upgrade will be an isis bb and some decent cranks. My onza bottom bracket creeks loads and ticks all the time, rarely skips though but the noise it makes is horrible.

BIG Drew
My onza bottom bracket creeks loads and ticks all the time, rarely skips though but the noise it makes is horrible. BB's can't Skip (freewheels skip) My mate _CRED_ has snapped 2 ONZA BB's in 2 weeks and he has had loads of creak, clunk and grinding noises in the past. If I was you, I would get a Shimano UN53 (I think thats the right model) or and ECHO one, depends on how much money you have got.DON'T get and half price replacement from ONZA because that will just mess up again and will be a waste of money.Hope this helps Edited March 18, 2007 by BIG Drew

BIG Drew
I think most bike stores (not just halfords) use shimano BB's for standard bikes. They might not use a UN 53, it might just be the cheapest model. (which is probably as good as and ONZA one.)Just find out what size your old one is and ask in halfords (or your local bike shop).I got mine from Here. A bargain at £13.99 Edited March 18, 2007 by BIG Drew
