Does seem as though that was inclusive of rims. It would be about the same cost if you're bike shop built it. A Tarty wheelbuild will cost you £15, postage all round might be around £10? and the rims will depend on whichever you chosse (obviously :P)

Email tarty or look on their site for the answer to your question!

As for building wheels they are top notch! (Y)

I agree,

also i had a rear wheel built by them just before christmas and its still perfectly true and i have rimed it alot, So i'm getting a new front wheel built by them in afew weeks :D

definatly recomend tarty's (Y)

£84 doesn't sound too unreasonable.

£30 for wheel builds

£20 for spokes

Leaves £34 for two rims and Tarty's cheapest ones (26") are £20 each or £17.50 (20/19") and that's a 2006 Echo rear.

So your local bike shop is actually cheaper - as long as the parts are comparable and they are good wheel builders.

And that's not counting the postage to/from Tarty.

Tarty Bikes wheelbuilds are amazing - you can guarantee your wheel will stay strong forever without the need to keep tightening spokes much like what you have to do with other shops wheelbuilds (N) .

Ring them and tell them what rims you want and they will sort you out with a pair and two sets of spokes at a great price :) .

Cheers,

Joe.

Yeah , build your own its fun and not that hard , and once you have built one from scratch you understand how the wheel works more so you can tru it on your own and keep i tensioned properly.

Meh, Jack can already do wheel truing very well, I just don't think he has the paitence or chance to assemble a whole wheel.

  WTF are the spokes made out of?! £80 for spokes + labour jesus...the words "ass" and "rape" come to mind there. Just tell them you can get the same deal for £20 and if they say bollocks, give them the link to tarty and just walk out. if you pay that much, sorry but you HAVE to be dumb (no offence, im sure you're not going to pay it ;) )
