Maybe we could make a fixed topic, about fixed gear / racing bikes. Im sure theres a few of us on here who do more than one discipline. Thank you! Muel Posted March 8, 2007 Report Share Posted March 8, 2007 I don't, but my dad rides a fixed road bike.I ride my scott to work on a monday, and thats a single speed so it sort of counts I suppose.I have also ridden on manchester veledrome which is frickin terrifying, the bankings are 42 degrees and if you don't go fast enough you slide down. Mark W Posted March 9, 2007 Report Share Posted March 9, 2007 I've ridden there too, it was good fun Just gotta stay in the right boundaries for how fast you're going, pretty much.With regards fixies, I'm thinking of getting one as a "Going to town" bike so I don't have to lock my BMX up in town. I know a good few people who use them to commute and get around, and I rode one around for a bit before, and they're really nice. Nice and simple, easy to ride, all good.
