trialsalot
it might just be me but my front brake (monotrial 160 monty version) can be stoooopid and other times be crap but the thing that makes it immense is my body weight being in the right place when i put my brake on.with a good technique you can make a not so good brake work a treat.craig

Mod Man Leo
Helloooo law suit!205mm rotor with Mono trial would be insane, not quite as on/off as BB7, it depends what you want really. I used to freakin' love my old Hope Mini 205 with gothic rotor on my Megamo - insane on-off ness. As Tarty-Dave said, set it up well and leave it alone! Can gothic rotors work with the mono trials? Are they even produced anymore?Well, soon i gona try out a 203 on ma mono trial, gona be sweeeeeeeet.!Especialy on a MOD!!Had a 185 bb7 before, much of a muchness, just love the lever."Get a mono trial, or a bb7?You cant go wrong with ether of them to be honest"! Ali C
I am not having much luck with brakes at the mo I have been using bb7s for the past few years and have been really happy with them, I have found that they start to go crap after about 8 months though. I just bought a new one last week as mine went crap, but I am not having any luck with my new one, its RUBBISH!! no bite at all.I have had a few mono trials too, never really got on with them either, I am tempted to stick mine back on though.I am going to look for a magura fr and maybe an avid juicy 7 or code.grrr, stupid disks!! Prawny Baby
dont talk poo prawnus...3 sets of forks in the space of 3 months says im not..... gone down to a 180 and my forks have been fine for a while now......personally, im like dave, ive never had the amazing brake so many people seem to get with the avid. i think its because i tend to really trash it on gaps to front, and i do weigh a good bit more than most.....also, ive always found they glaze up BIG TIME if used to slow down at all! Tony Harrison
Hope Trial, 180mm rotor with a PROPERLY FACED disk mount. Very important with an 'open' hydraulic disk. Mine is faultless...

Ben Jones
Put my BB7 on today, riding around to bed it in.....put loads of water on it and started to ride around, and this black liquidy stuff started to drip off. Brake still works well, i'm just hoping it's not oil or anything, i made sure i didn't get on on the rotor as i built it.Any thoughts??? Cheers, Ben
