Luke Rainbird
18:17 is probably a bit low unless you like it really spinny18:16 or perhaps 18:15 would be a bit more regular, giving ratios of 1.125 and 1.2 respectivelyPersomally I'd go for 18:15 given the option of the two

Waddy
18:17 is probably a bit low unless you like it really spinny18:16 or perhaps 18:15 would be a bit more regular, giving ratios of 1.125 and 1.2 respectivelyPersomally I'd go for 18:15 given the option of the twoyer 18:16 and 18:15 are moe common, but he is running short cranks, so maybe a ligher gear to even it out abit, try 18:17 chris, and if that is too easy run 18:
JoNnY__Mc
I would use 18 : 16, I used to use that on my saracen mad with 165 cranks... I now use 18 : 15 with 175 cranks on my zenith, feels better for me because I can put more power down when I want to.You'll need a long bb, maybe 127 ish... I run an skf ... on my zenith frame I had to get my bottom bracket shell faced *-) you might want to look into that.
abtrials
i am running 18/17 on mine with 170 cranks and it is fine i tryed 18/16 for a bit but gap,s and bumps were harder oh yea also by running 18/17 with a kmc cool chain you dont need any tensioner
scousertrials
what gear ration do you guys think is best for a monty urban with a 26" rear wheel, i have a 22t chain ring on the crank and would like to know if i should use a 19 or 18 toothed sprocket on the hub end. what ratio do the big guys use ( excellent riders who ride stock). kind regards all

20inchsuperstar
18;16 is the sex for me, on 170 mm tensiles, try out 18;17, you can always change it matt
SomeoneNew
22-19 ***, thats what I run on my zenith (and ran on my mony urban) Feels good to me so i go with something with a similar ratio to that!
(chief)
Cheers i have decided to go with 18:17 hope its fine but cheap to get a new cog just trial and error really.chris
Luke Rainbird
Nooooo! Too low!Unless you are a fan of really spinny gears I wouldn't recommend anything lower than 18:
GyTrials
im currently using 20-16 and it seems fine for me used the same gear ratio on all trials bikes including my zenith
