Adivce needed, I've destroyed 2 tryall 06's already and am looking for a new rim. I dont think I will get another tryall, but cannot get the echo 07 because they are only available in 32h, what other options are there?

I'm looking for long life, flat spot & dent resistance and 36h... what else is out there?

personally jonny, id go with a ronnie!

ive been runing ronnies on the back now for about two years, and i really do love them!

ive tried a few others in that time, killed a tryall, had a doublewide but couldnt get it to work on a frame at the time.

always ended up back on ronnies, on my 3rd one now i think, previous two have died from old age, many many big dropgaps and regular grinds until the sidewalls are paper thin!

ive had my current ronnie on sinse june last year, so thats around 9 months now, and its pretty good still. ive put it through hell regularly, and when it dents i just fold them back out again. the sidewalls are getting a little thin now, but its refusing to die!

i can imagine an undrilled one would be SOLID!

i ran my previous ronnie for 9 months, with the holes drilled out to 25mm!

i ran a ronnie when i had my zenith the whole time, and i found pad setup perfectly acceptable.

brand new pads fitted in without any problems at all, and i was able to run them right until they wore down to ~1mm so no adjustment issues.

you also get a much taller braking surface, which not only makes brake setup much easier, but gives the rim more vertical stiffness.....

i reckon ronnies rock! im a fat boy and i run soft tyres, and dont get any tyre fold issues either!

i had an old alex dx 32 and it was a great rim but i cant find any in a 36 hole the ones on tarty are 32 but i also run a 36 hole hub, i have also tried a ronnie and there a great rim mine kinda died though after about 6 months and many grinds but it did the job and like previous posts they have a taller sidewall so setting up a brake is easier than having to set it up on a try all rim. also i am currently using a hog rim and they work no dents yet and i have had it since easter but the hog rims dont really hold a grind very well

hope this helps

imo i would go for the ronnie, or wait for the new tensile rim (try all rim with eyelets i heard)

ah... hmmm... ermm... *-) well... have got my tryall to last out... Its pretty much straight... got all the minor flat spots out and so on... just 2 fat ones right next to each other... I'm now set to destroy it by dropping reli high and doing the biggest drop gap I can find :P... should be ordering an undrilled ronnie soon...
