dave85
pretty much yes, altho for nuts you can rob a cup and cone hub for its locknuts.
Heatsink
Is that an annoying uncommon size I won't find bolts/nuts for easily? It is! It's a finer pitch than the normal M10 bolt. Here's a quick alternative bolt set up you could try if you need to hang something off the hanger. Nut on the inside of the mech hanger, length to suit what you need to bolt through, and put washers on the outside to ensure there's not an excess of protruding thread after the nut since it may interfere with the cassette.Steve
Shaun H
pretty much yes, altho for nuts you can rob a cup and cone hub for its locknuts. That may just work, there's some very stubborn swarf on my Rohloff bolt from it stripping a hanger and it keeps chewing up the thread in the hanger I have fitted now. I've tried filing it and allsorts but it hasn't really helped and there's still alluminium on the thread. Hoping a nut will clean it out properly. Thanks anyway the both of you. dave85
If you can, get a junior hacksaw or a small file and cut a few slots in the nut from the thread outwards. Helps make it more like a die and clear the swarf better.
