ben.richardson
Righteo everyone help is in need.I was bleeding my rear brake which is a magura and i think some blood got on the disk but im not sure because the disk is still biting but just making the funny noise that contaminated rotors do. I also got some blood on my rear rim and pads because im silly . I have just used turps on my rear pads and grind to sort the oil out and it has worked my brake is fine but my quiere is. Will the turps work on my rotor?? My disk pads are currently soaking in coke as i have heard it works well with all the carbon dioxide thats in the coke and it eats all the muck away. So will it work or just f***************k it up??? help! please
Fixed Pants™
Muc off works well on rotors apparently.

Ali C
I have never had good results with muc off, infact it always totally ruined my disks!Best way to get rid of contaminated pads is to burn them with a blowtorch or somthing, let them cool down again and they should be a lot better, you could give the rotor a quick blast too, but make sure you dont warp it...the dishwasher could be a good bet. Fishy
Boil your disc pads for 20 minutes. Bigman told me this, and it works a treat.

abe
to save making another thread, Im fairly sure my disk is contaminated, if i put hot water on it, it works brilliantley, but only for 2 minutes. Does this mean that the rotor deffiantley is contaminated?
ben.richardson
so will turps not work then seen as though people have recommended other things. What temperature will a disk start to melt and warp at.
