Fish-Finger-er
ok, ive never had particularly brilliant skin, but have never had acne, had the odd teenage zit phase at 15. but in the last few days. i seem to have had a total spot craze, not so much on my face, altho took a couple of old whiteheads off there, but on my neck an shoulders, there goin mad. is there anything much that causes them, my only idea is its from a changed diet. as im having a month off from the gym, as its getting stale, an im goin an not doing anything, my diet has changed somewhat. whereas before i was surviving on protein shakes, with skimmed milk, fresh bread, and broth style soup. ive started eating a lot more, but not unhealthy foods, yet spots are going crazy for some reason. is it possible that my bodies got used to an uber toxin free diet, and now its chucking up spots like no tomorrow, because i used to survive on fried food and chocolate and they where never this bad. question i was wondering, will my body once more adapt, or will i have to go back to my old ways(Which ill be doing anyway in 2.5 weeks) to clear my skin??or is there any more causes for spots that could be possible?? Alan
The grease and crap in fried food and chocolate which you used to eat just blocked your pouse(sp?(paws)) and built up the spot deep into the skin, Now your eating more healthy your pouse have opened up more and your bodies getting rid of the crap, but im guessing its probaly AIDS. Dan Jones
In the “You are what you eat” book it has a page about Acne. It says it can be hormonal imbalances, but can be also be you diet. It has a bit about what you can try.You can probably get the book out of the library.
Token
I get them if I've been a sweaty betty an then not showered after. Here's some technical info on the reason why you may be getting spots now:Our hormones (testosterone, to be precise) are responsible for spots, or acne. Spots are basically the skin's response to the presence of this hormone, which can over-stimulate a natural oil called sebum. This gets secreted onto the surface of the skin through tiny open pores. If a blockage occurs then a blackhead forms like a cap. Underneath, the trapped oil can breed bacteria. The area becomes inflamed and the zit makes an appearance. Nearly 70% of us get acne, at some stage and in differing degrees.Quoted
531joshua
apparently diet has nothing to do with iti went to my gp the other week and they said to buy this stuff called benzoyl peroxideonly been using it for a few days but hell it worksnow my doc said that it isnt diet that affects the spot thing, as the sebum that builds up is in excess not because of diet, but its hormone relatedso maybe us with spots are just horny?i think its related to how much you sweat etc aswell
Captain Scarlet
See the GP mate, my brother went to the doctor for his and got some high strength spot tablets (I think they were).Really effective stuff, I think I'm gonna have to resort to it if my face gets any worse.
