Computer Problem

Recommended Posts

Basically my computer keeps bleeping because the cpu temperature is at about 40c and it's really annoying. What can i get that is easy to fit and doesn't cost too much. I have basic knowledge about computers so don't use all big and complicated words.

Thanks in advance

Even 48 isn't overly hot. In the summer my CPU regularly sits at a temperature around the high 40's.

To enter the BIOS (Basically the motherboard settings) with most motherboards you press delete as soon as the machine has been started. Hopefully there will be an option to set the temp the warning alarm goes off. Although seeing as you didn't know what the BIOS is I guess your not too good with computers so it might might be safer to avoid changing settings unless your happy about what your doing.

I guess you have one or two chassis fans pulling the hot air out of the case?

Yeah i have 1 on the back and 1 on the side, ive heard about an intercooler of some sort. What would that be?

Im not expert but my mates dads mate has a realy nice case on his computer, it is transparent with blue lights, and my mate said somthing about it having an intercooler, it also has lots of vents.

So im guessing a nice 'venty' case with an intercooler thingy and a nice cool room.

Cheers, Rorz!

40 degrees is nothing for a processor to reach, ive seen overclocked processors around 70-80.

do what the other guy said and change the alarm in bios to 60 or 70 degrees.

48c is a totally fine temp for your cpu to be at. The problem is probally that your comp is set to alarm if your cpu gets too close to 50c.

Pretty sure you can set in your BIOS the temperature you want your alarm to go off at, say 60c+. Anything above 65c and its getting abit toasty.

By the way what cpu have you got? AMD or Intel?

EDIT: You'll be looking for something like this in your BIOS> http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/fullimage.php?image=582

Make sure that your CPU heatsink hasnt got cloged full of fluff and dust and also you CPU fan may have seized or stopped working, if so clean you heatsink and unseize or renew you fan.
