Fish-Finger-er
Just some advice please.Just got an Email from Paypal Inc titled Paypal Dispute, but i aint got Paypal.Anyone know if this is a dodgy virus thing or genuine, as in will i be safe opening it?Frootygot this yesterday, its not a virus(no attachments. its basically an email sent from "paypal", saying your account looks like its been hacked, please log in and update your account information/change your password. otherwise they may suspend your account in 72 hours). it then links you to a fake site.set up looking like paypal. and all the links from that site go the genuine paypal ones. the idea being, you attempt to log in on that site, it saves your details. then someone logs in as you later on , and sends large amounts of money from your paypal account to theres. wahoo. internet fraud complete. or even small amounts, right now, if someone sent £10 out of my paypal account, i wouldnt have a clue, i purchased 5+ things this week on ebay. i wouldnt notice an extra 1, so if 100 people did the same, itd be an grand for the owners of the scam. definetely not a genuine paypal site, as its got a different addy. also note its only http:, not https:. which is kinda a give away too. but no, its not a virus, its just a hoax email. so read it by all means, just dont try an log in on it(Actually im gunna go log in on it now, with a few fake addresses and passwords. just to see what happens. )

There are a lot of scam emails that work in the same way, such as the bank ones i mentioned, where they say something about your account being hacked, then link you to a page to enter your details.
