t.w
there will be a large gap so the part of the rim that has the gap is more likly to bend or buckle
padarik
there will be a large gap so the part of the rim that has the gap is more likly to bend or bucklethink your thinking of some thing else? you can jus miss the 4 holes and build it as a 32 hole hub on to a 32 hole hub,

Joe Sheehan!
erm you can, dont see how its goin to be weak? seen them bein ran for ages,Surely it would be weaker as you wouldn't be able to thread the spokes properly? (chief)
Surely it would be weaker as you wouldn't be able to thread the spokes properly? JoeHI it will be weak but not by much barley even noticeable my mate built a 32 hole onto a 36 hole and its lasted him 4 months now and hes harsh as fu** it should be fine if u built it depends on who and how well its built as well.chris
NVWOCI WVS
its not ideal but it can quite easily be built up, i work in a bike shop and wheel building is my speciality!as long as you leave the spaces in the hub flange on one side opposite eachother and on the other side the spaces at 90degrees to but still opposite eachother, then the wheel should be reasonably ok. The only thing i can see being a problem is that the tension and length of the spokes wont all be perfectly even, so you might find yourself having to true the wheel slightly more regularly!if you build the wheel yourself just make sure the spoke tension is as even as possible, or get the wheel profesionally built and it should be fine! moza
Yer it can be done, i did my mates. its still going strong lol. there was a post on members area about doing it but i cannot find it all you need to do is miss 2 spokes out either flange, try to offset them so its 1 either side if you get what i mean. makes it a bit easyer.cheers moza
