JoNnY__Mc
Well... Just a bored sunday night sat on the computer, gotta go back to college (sixth form) tomorrow, and really don't wanna go! The thought of nagging teachers asking me about coursework, homework and my report makes me hate the place even more.Well... heres my story, at the start of the accedemic year I had no idea what I wanted to do for the rest of my life, it was time for me to face the facts, choose some subjects and make the first step towards becoming an adult. I pretty much had no idea at all what I wanted to do, with interest in media and photography I was keen to take a course in those subjects at college, but, I was told by my parents there was no future in that and was pressured into taking more "serious" subjects (chemistry, phsysics, biology and pyschology).A few months and 4 examinations later, I have realised this really isn't for me. My school work is bad, I find myself half asleep and day dreaming in lessons, I'm on a school report... I'm not the same guy i was a few months ago... All the time I'm there I feel like i'm under this constant pressure.I've told my parents this but they insist I carry on with the year, and if i don't they threaten that i won't have be able to live in the house anymore So... anyone bin in a similar situation before? how did you cope? Ash-Kennard
ive got my GCSE's soon enough, not something im looking forward to, but something i want to do, and do well in. then planning on going to college and will be taking chemistry, physics, geography and maths. other than that, my long term plans have nothing in particular at the moment, i dont have any ideas for th future and don't really care, as long as i can get a job which allows me to do what i want to do. fathopper
I had an idea of what i wanted to do, but then its changed, it always changes. At college ive been studying media (moving image) I thought yeah ill get into that perhaps start filming biking videos or adult entertainment when I'm 18, but now i'm not so sure, at the moment all i seem to want to do is work on my car and ride. But I need a job to fund this but I cant be arsed with one. So at the moment I'm stuck with the decsion of quitting college or staying on, i'm just getting sick of the whole coursework deadline thing. so replying to where is my life going, at the moment I dont actually know just sticking at it and seeing where it goes. Si-man
My life is actually going pretty well for a change!Got a good job as a service/ plastics engineer fixing machinery ranging from hydraulic valves on the injection moulding machines to little things like repairs to broken conveyors and running injection machines making promotional products like mugs and rulers etc that have custom designs printed on them.Got a steady income which does me fine, learning how to drive soon so will be able to travel about the other companys linked to the one im employed by.only downside is that I have to go to college 1 day on day release and i f**king HATE it with a passion, almost punched my lecturer in the head the other day it was that bad!Dont really have a good social life but im not arsed to tell the truth, im one of these people that likes to be on their own at times (even though i just end up talking to myself haha!)well, thats me so far, hopefully will get better and more interesting if i join the army as an engineer

Fish-Finger-er
erm, currently second year apprentice at bt fleet. dont know where my lifes heading though. a week on thursday, ive got to answer my bail. at which point i could be facing many many years in prison. in which case thats wer my lifes heading, after that ill eithr be a hardened criminal, or likely end up a 30 something labourer on a building site. other than that, ive got 3 options. as far as i see it. 1) stay at bt, and do whatever, either move up the company, or stay in my current position2) once i got money saved up, sack it all off, and go to uni. but come out of uni at 23/24 and have a degree, work experience, and be debt free. 3) sack off working for bt, and go travelling. then end up back cheffing or summit. in hotels in the alps or summit. skiing all through the winter, then come back over here in the summer, and work as whatever. rinse.repeat, till im 30ish, by which time ill of resigned myself to a pretty low payed life. but will have had a hell of a 10 years. in the meantime. but till i know how my situation of freedom pans out, seems a bit short sighted to make decisions any further ahead than next thursday. Ali C
I have never known what I wanted to do, my only passion in life is bikes, so being in the cycling buisness is what I wanted to do, either designing bikes or welding bikes.I took a graphic design at college in ND level and went to do a two year HND graphic design course, but I quit after a month as I wasnt enjoying it (too much research, not enough hands on).I tried to get qualifications in welding, but there was nowhere to do that without leaving home.I have given up the idea of owning a bike company (too much work, I dont care for buisness studies or accountings stuff) or designing bikes (cant deal with computers, they drive me nuts).Welding might be somthing I would like to do in the future after I have stopped trials, but I dont want to do it now.I am starting a job in a bikeshop, so far seems pretty good, get on well with the guys that work there, I am interested in what they sell, so its all good. Barbra
On the same boat as Danny really, but i'm the same as Ali as well, alls im good at is bikes and more hands on sides of work. So to me after i'm done in school i'll probably just get an apprenticeship to be a joiner or something. Get a part time job and ride. Alls i want to do in life is ride and have any job i can find to keep my biking life going. But something along the line will ruin plans as it always does, thats just life, so being a joiner i'd have a good career there to sustain my life if i ever got told to leave my home etc.EDIT: Joiner because you can link it to biking, i.e. going into building ramps, and full parks for companies etc Edited February 18, 2007 by Barber

Dan6061
I f**ked up my GCSE's.Didn't do any of the coursework. Never done homework on a regular basis, from the start of my schooling days, so I just got used to not doing it? - Thought i'd much rather go out then stay a home doing schoolwork. Didn't get any C's or above..which is mental gay.But atm I'm doing a BTEC Business diploma, and key skills, which is okay. - I get around 5-7 GCSE equivalents at the end of it, and I don't think i'm doing that bad in them...Have no idea what I actually want to do though, interested in photography, but I doubt i'd get anywhere with it. Can't afford some really decent kit, etc.Umm...yeah..i have no idea, basically.
