How Do I View A Video Downloaded That Is A .iso & .vob

BONGO

Recommended Posts

I downloaded a movie torrent. It's done and it's not an avi or mpg etc, it's a .ISO.

Basically just ripped straight from DVD i think (?) Hence the 4.36GB size.

How do i view this???

If the answer is to burn it to dvd, please gimme some clues how to arrange it on the disc before burning it if it works like this. Or is it a case of just burning the .ISO file to a blank dvd and it'll work???

Whatever needs doing, please tell me...

Cheers, Bongo

if you don't want to burn the image, get this

^^^

yeh get daemon tools, its like a 'pretend' dvd drive, so you just mount the image on the drive and it'll let you open the file in any media player pretty much (though i recommend you get VLC player too, becasue it'll play anything).

what do you mean if i don't want to burn the image???

I don't really understand what images of discs mean!

Winrar, so if i dl winrar and open the .iso in that, will it just open up like a compressed folder, and have files inside that i can just view in mediaplayer or something???

http://www.disc-tools.com/download/daemon

and which one do i download, 32 or 64?!?

Well, you can either burn the image on a DVD and when you put the disc into your computer/dvd player it will just play like an ordinary video

or you can use a program that reads the image and makes the computer think it's a dvd you've put into your drive

Yes

Well, depends on what windows you have? Probably 32, if it doesn't run then get the 64.

Din't really read through the thread, but an ISO is a disc image... which means its everything that should be on a disc... only not on one yet. Its been pre-packed to be put straight onto a disc for you. So if you have soemthing like nero or the other free cd/dvd burning software mentioned you can simply click the file, it opens in the prgram and you stick the cd/dvd in and click start/burn/go. A couple of minutes later your finished disc pops out and its like any normal cd/dvd.... you've just skipped out having to find the files, make menu's put them into the right order and encode the files yourself.

An ISO is primarily for lazy/computer illiterate people to download a file and turn into normal cd's/dvd's.
