Quit arguing and read:

Its because in the UK we ride on the left of the road, so to turn right you have to stick you hand out to indicate to get the cars to let you out through the traffic. Now you only have one break, and most people would agree that its better to only have the rear. When turning left it doesn't matter as much, because you aren't cutting through the traffic. So you don't need to indicate as much.

Unless you live in the UK, Ireland, japan or aus-land. Then you drive on the right, so its the other way around, you need to indicate left more, so need your rear break on the right.
