Synergy
hey try tightening your headset or putting some grease on the steerer tube, i have the same forks and i think they just creak because they flex a bit compared to most forks. mrBENN
Thanks could it be becasue of the power of my disk or the thickness of the steering tube ?
RobinJI
Have you checked the steerer for cracks too? or did you just check with the fork still in the bike?

dave85
Don't know the situation now, but it used to be quite common that echo/zoo forks creaked. The steerer is pressed into the fork crown and welded at the bottom only. Over time, the crown stretches slightly and lets the steerer move a bit, causing the creaking. To check that, take the forks out, put the steerer in a vice (so that if you put a wheel in the fork, it would be lying flat on its side), grab hold of the fork blades and push/pull on them. Sometimes when there's been spare grease and oil lying about, you'll see it coming out of the joint as you push and pull, as well as the creaking. Its quite un-nerving having a creaking set of forks, but I know of pairs that started creaking at two weeks old, and went on to last another two years.
