Simpson
Right well basically my parents said that they would buy me a pair of football boots for the rest of the season once id recovered from my operation.... however since the gap in football my riding has got a lot better and they have said that they would agree to buy me trials shoes instead - as its near the end of the football season and physically after my op im just not upto game pace and dont think ill play next season! (before you say whats the point.... its something my parents want to get me instead of money and theyve never brought me anything trials related before so might make them pay more attention to it and stop moaning about me bashing up my bike)so ive looked at......Ribos - 1st choice from trialsman - i think that theyll give me the most protection and performance... but they just look so stupid and the soles all stick out and meh! i think id love them to ride in but you look pretty godam stupid in them!!!Try Alls - probably the best looking but my friend had a pair and they were destoryed in a few rides......Montys - just look wank!Viz ones? none of the other shoes but the ribos look like they offer much ankle support?my bodys pretty battered now and just want a pair of shoes for riding alot of street and maybee live up for some natty when i pass my driving test!worn any of the shoes? what do you think? Nick Garland
Not specifically trials shoes. But Etnies Rooftop 3s are signiture shoes for a pro bmxer, cant remember his name. I use them and find them very comfy, also alot tougher than pixie shoes They have very good impact protection, some special gel substances in the bottoms of shoes, and very good ankle support. Someone was selling loads on ebay brand new!cheers lewis
Simpson
i f**king love my ribos,Which ones do you have? do you think that they look a bit OTT for street?
that NBR dude
Who cares what you look like? When you ride, do you look at your feet the whole time, or do you concentrate on what you are doing?I have had Monty, Try-all and now have Ribos.Monty - They feel great, but the sloes do wear very quickly.Try-all - again, feel great, but I found the sides used to rip apart a lot, and again the soles were down quickly.Ribos - They dont feel as comfy as the Try-alls, but they do have more ankle support, they seem to be holding up better on the sides, and the sole hasnt worn down at all that I can tell, so thats what I reccomend Edited February 14, 2007 by Andy@NBR
ZeroMatt
I'm loving my 661 launch takis, kinda like skating shoes but a lot more protective and an amazingly grippy sole. Tried the pixie boots before and I can't say i like them at all.

Technical Tom
I have had 1 pair of try-all's and the soles on them are far too thin, you just rip big holes into them. My Ribo's are fantastic though, nice bit of ankle support and a very hard waring sole, hence the reason I'm on my second pair.Tom.
Walleee
what er the differances between the ribo's at Trialsman and those for sale a Tartybikes?
monty boi
Old monty boots are the best by far, there grippy, lightweight, comfy the only downside is that mine are in yellow and blue which looks abit silly, but apart from that there reliable, they get my vote, here they are-- .Adam. Sam Oliver
Had Tryall ,Ribo's & Monty's,The Ribo's & Monty have identical soles so wear rate is the same Ribo's give more ankle support & Monty's are more comfortable Tryall are ok but the laces are a pain Your own preference really IMO they are all ok but not brilliant Sam. Janson
the only good thing about monty shoes is the sole. and they're also glued onto Ribo shoes, which are a thousand times more comfortable to wear. i could never walk properly in monty shoes, it was very uncomfortable. the ribo shoe is a nicer fit and much nicer to walk in. also, i think the sole is a bit thicker on the ribo, flexible but not so thin that your foot hurts, like my feet did with monty shoes...i am on about the red/black/gray ones, which were just like the clown-theme shoes but different colours. hugh_b
ive had try all and both new and old style montys. The old monty's lasted me for ever, until i out grew them!!Even then they looked great. The try-alls lasted me a few months, the soles went really quik and holes developed on the insides. My new monty's seem good so far and very comfy. I'm gona get myself a set of ribo's to try though. -hugh
Ali C
might be worth waiting for the new Ribos from tartybikes to come out, they currently have a few pairs in testing (I have two pairs) they are all slightly different, they will use the best features from each one and come up wih the best shoe ever made. They are 100X better looking than older Ribos too, they will be worth waiting for! andyb
Having had a pair of try alls and ribos i have to say that i prefer the try all sole but the ribo uppers for comfort. Ribos take ages to wear in.Andy
James_Porter
i dont know how you people can say the ribos have good ankle support, its just a bit of friggin neoprene. and the soles come away from the upper shoe, wear through the sides in weeks, look propper spak, pretty heavy, hot, do your ankles in so bad, especially if you walk around in them... they are forking aweful. the ONLY good thing about them is the soles, which is the same on montys, made by davos? or summat.sorry tarty, i really hope you sort out the new ones.
