Fishy
Looking good dude. Did you use the 20t or 22t in the end?
Bigman
Looking good dude. Did you use the 20t or 22t in the end?Go your 22t on atm dude, but may have to put the 20t back on if we want to make the 35deg extreme gradient, we don't have to do it, but we want to Adam
PaRtZ
awesome! Make a video of that bad boy in action!
RobinJI
looks awesome. Got some pics of a go-kart I've drawn in Inventor 7 for college, I'll up-load them sometime and post them up.I kinda agree that 20" wheels would perhaps have made it easier, but then again it would also make the rolling resistance greater on bumpy terrain, maybe just 20" rear to keep the weight lower? meh.Have you seen the off-road wheelchairs they have in the US? there's a few clips of them in some of the NWD movies, Look insanely fun, they've got wishbone suspension and everything, With the rider sat really low down right between the wheels. One of those modified with a drive train would be insane! One of these bad boys! Although I've seen newer ones running 8" hayes discs and stuff full mavic/hope wheelsets.Edit: was spelling about as well as a 13 year old chav! Edited May 1, 2007 by Dont you Just Hate it When... Simon
When you stop peddling, what happens? Are the front brakes in union, or do they have separate levers?Fair play, looks a beast, although possible a little back end heavy? Which for slopes may be an issue?

Which for slopes may be an issue? When you stop pedaling you freewheel, made my own little adapter to fit a cassette onto a square taper bottom bracket Front brakes have seperate levers, only because it was going to be a b*****d to fit them to work together.Um, a little rear end heavy, but we tried the "extreme" 35deg slope and the front end did not seem to want to lift off, so all is good Adam
RobinJI
This is the go-kart I mentioned earlier, might get some better pics of things like the break tomorrow at college, no engine as it is too, but all the steering and everything works:
rickycoleman
I know this may sound stupid, but what are you intending to do with your off-road vehicle design degree? As it sounds very specific....
Luke Rainbird
I would imagine he'll go on to design off-road vehicles of some description I guess it's aimed at agricultural style stuff, knowing Adam, though don't take my word for it...
