There isn't a certain way you are meant to do it, i think.

stetpro
it seems better because if you were right foot forward and sidehoped to the right then u have more chance of hitting your pedal because most people put there front wheel on the wall first

Dan6061
Do whatever feels most confortable.I'm left foot forward, and sidehop to the left, even know the majority of left footers sidehop to the right.

moto_psycho
if you ride left footed YOU MUST learn to sidehop on your left hand side, otherwise you will die...

ted
Whichever side feels best. Im a right footer and i sidehop to the right, which is useful because it means i won't land on my disk .
Ali C
generally speaking, left footed riders sidehop to the right and right footers sidehop to the left.......of course there are people who do the opposite, but its usually easier doing it the way I said. Ash-Kennard
who cares, sidehops are shit anyway, learn to backwheel, far more interesting
samo
hi. i am right footed but i side hop to the left and i find it much easyer to side hop that way...... but i used to be in a habit of going to the right. but i have founed that with side hopping the oppersite way to your foot you only need to go up, but with going the same was as your foot you have to go up and turn(if you get what i mean. juat keep practicing that is the only way you will get better. onzat-comp
Hi You are supposed to side hop to the left if your right foot forward and to the right if your left foot forward. This is so you can drop back onto the crank if you need to. (bails). This has caused me quite a few problems eg;learning to side hop really high then realizing that it is the wrong way. Anyway I'm trying to conquer this and i am getting better but this will save me a lot of injury time when i don't make side hops and have nothing to drop back to. Thanks Rick

powerz
Well i always thought that if you sidehop up a wall then you go the oposite side that your chocolate foot (strong foot).Right footed = go leftLeft footed = go rightThats why i have been learning sidehops to my left, & I did find out sunday that it means you may catch and bend your disc if your right footed and get it wrong. kyle-livesey
im right footed and side hop to my left iused to do this to the right but i was always snapping my mech hangers and couldnt do any more than 20 inch started to do it the other way then it all click can do 44 inch now just keep trying really hard
gianttrials
Okay i think people should try to both sides whatever footed they are. Especially if you ride comps or just want to be a better all-round rider. I'm left footed and hop better to the left. So that's NOT the way it's apparently meant to be, but WHO has the say so? Just ride what feels comfortable and try the other side to improve your overall ability.WST
