LEON
yea i know it wont bunnyhop/manual etc the way i want it to, doing it for the gaps n sidehops really, feel to limited on a short bike, stuck on 7ft gaps and 40" sidehops Leon
andyb
Having had a high bb adamant i can tell you that they are really nice to ride, the only thing you really lose is the ability to go to bashguard as the geo of the bike just wont allow it. They give really good ground clearance and once your used to them you forget all about the bb height.Out of the two i would go for the adamant, but thats because i like the longer back end.Andy
Blommah
it`s all about personal preference, of course there is good and bad riders on high bb, as well as good and bad riders on low bb.Saying that high bb riders probably are newbies, wannabies or really good, is just stereotyping, of course there are good and bad riders on both high and low bbs. James Quigley
Personally I dont think there is that much difference between high BB and low BB.When I first got my GU it was DIFFERENT but not bad, all you have to do is adjust your technique a bit. I could happily ride my old Kenny Belaey or my GU, just so happens the GU is bomb proof, which is a bonus for me.And to make Ali C happy, I got my GU when Tunni was on a low BB zoo and Damon was on his KOT, so had nothing to do with my decision Bear in mind if you do go high BB and new bar/stem combo will be REQUIRED. I'm running a HI-Fi stem with zoo bars if that helps. My 2 cents
Brian Bleech
yea i know it wont bunnyhop/manual etc the way i want it to, doing it for the gaps n sidehops really, feel to limited on a short bike, stuck on 7ft gaps and 40" sidehops LeonWith a something like an Ashton or an Echo Pure, the extra length will make it better for gaps , sidehops, taps and stuff. While still being good for bunnys and mannys!
LEON
Thought about an ashton but decided I wanna be either one or the other, full on long bike or full on short, I've never given long a chance until now, cant wait Leon

Nick Garland
From my experience, they are not bad, but they are not fab. I had an Adamant A1 and it was ok, I used to like it. Although I did find it abit tiring, however it was sexual on the backwheel, but I had to adjust my technique so much to gap and sidehop etc. I moved to the Zoo! 20mm bb rise, like my old toxsin was, already 10x better to ride. Everyone used to hate my Adamant, and now I can see why. You will really need to ride one before buying, I cannot reccomend them.
philking
Haven't read all the posts because i can't be arsed. Having had a Zero, a levelboss 1065, a Czar Ivan and now a Gu Typhoon, i can honestly say that all have advantages and disadvantages. Both the Gu and the Adamant are pretty similar, neither will break on you (unless you are pretty dam fat), both are very similar geo... However they have changed the Adamant for '07 so that it has less bb rise (15mm or 25mm dependent on the length) so if bb rise is what your after don't go for the 07 Adamant. The other thing is that high BB frames feel shorter because there is a smaller distance between the BB and the top of the head tube, so if you are (say) 5'8" or over then you might be suited to the long version of the frame. I am 5'8" and i ride the long Gu and its just about right for me.And lastly, i wouldnt order of Select Bikes if i were you Tarty Bikes is where it's at

Alex.loves.boys
I find that when people just have a quick go, they like the ease of rear wheel control, its pretty much always the first impression that people go with.Thats what happened with me anyway, but I soon found that the rear wheel control comprimised the bikes other uses.I dont have the best balence in the world, so I found that on a high bb bike, my center of gravity was noticably higher and I could randomly fall off for no reason.Theres soooooooo much more to how good a bike is than rear wheel control, sure high bb bikes are good at some stuff (hooks backwheel control and aparently gaps to front are nicer) but since when has a normal frame been hard on the rear wheel? I think sidehops, normal gaps, staying on the bike once landing moves, bunnyhops, manuals, and general balence are all better on low bb bikesI dont want to sound bigheaded or anything, but it nearly always seems to be the newer, learner rider who like high bb frames (just because of the rear wheel control I think), I can count the number of top riders who use bbs over 30mm on one hand.Same with me.On my high fi i felt like i was wobbling all over the place.
