Hey!

I'm pretty new in riding mod, am a xc and dirt rider from the beginning. Bought a Saracen M.A.D Zero.2 mod, to begin with.

Anyone know anything about this bike or Saracen bikes? We haven't got that brand in Sweden, would be fun to know if anyone has any experience of it...

Bring it on! (Y)

They're fine as a first bike, wouldn't reccomend one to any one that's already in trials though. It's good enough to get into trials with, any bike is, but you'll probably be too good for it within 6 or so months.

You'll need to get some Hs33's if you haven't already got them, or a decent pair of V brake pads.

Saracen are ok, not made anymore though, as far as i know.

hey m8

saracen is fine to start on my brother is just starting out and he has one and having a ride of it myself i think it pritty good untill eveything starts to wear in thats when the problems start

but id defo get some HS33's because the v-brakes that come as standered dont last very one :(

but good luck with trials and no matter what bike you have enjoy it to the full (Y)

Yeah I got the advice before to get me some Hs33's, and I think I will go for it. I've noticed how my current V-brakes don't do their job properly when it comes to jumping on and off to stuff.

Since I've just getting started I appreciate the advices.

Cheers

From what I heard, the headtube is a dodgy size and apparently not many forks will fit it. But even if it is true, your forks probably wont need replacing for a while.

Nice starter bikes, mega easy to get onto the back wheel.

Headtube is standard - 1 1/8"

ive rode one before and they are stupidly short, the stock brakes felt like crap. felt awful

Mine was 1040 wheelbase.

I've owned an Orange Zero, a Koxx Levelboss 1040, a Base TA26 '04 and a Leeson Clear 660. The Saracen was probably one of the better riding frames out of that group, especially considering the price.

I loved mine for the short while I had it. Was easy to get on the backwheel, bunnyhop, manual, you name it. Just a shame I got given it with a crack in it, and I practically destroyed it in 2 rides :(

Its stupid all these people saying its a crap bike! sooo many trials riders now are coming into trials and stating on bikes worth over a grand! its f**king stupid! its part of the fun starting on modifyed mountain bikes! i seriously started trials on a Saracen 2 six (the stock version of the 2 zero) and it was great fun! if it aint broke dont bother fixing it! so i just waited for somthing to break and then started building the bike up to what it ended up being! (a pretty pimp echo control) becuase i broke / snapped everything on it!

but if your going to think about riding your bike seriously a HS33 is something you need! vee brakes are great but when you start going bigger you need confidence in your back brake! so you can pick up a cheap brake arround 20 pounds for a rear one? then just enjoy your riding (Y)

OH sorry just read your post PROPPERLY

urm yea saracens arnt really trials specific and are more in the XC and Dirt scence i guess.... but there trials bikes are very cheap and great for begginers! urm i snapped mine and cracked it in 3 places... but it lasted me over 6 months which considering how heavy i rode back then was hardly supprising!

most of the parts will need upgrading to stand the abuse of trials but ride it till it breaks! and just have fun (Y)
