Osram
basically you can't get your songs from your ipod to your computer ,well not that i know of , i take it you have your Ipod on the manual update setting rather then updating automatically when you plug your ipod into your computer ? Fish-Finger-er
woah, hope you aint got the itunes set on auto update, cos otherwise will have already cleared your ipod out of songs. in which case youve lost all your music. otherwise: when you connect your pc upto your ipod, and itunes asks if youd like to replace all songs on it, from the songs on the pc(think youve got the ipod shared between 2 pc's) click no. then go into my computer, whatever drive your ipod is listed as. have it set to view hidden files and folders. in the hidden control folder. there will be files ranging from f01 to about f049. inside them is your music. all the file names have been replaced with a 4 letter combination. but all ID3 tags will still work. so copy them all onto your pc. unplug ur ipod. then go to the playlists on your ipod. youll then have to create every playlist again(which for me was no hassle. as i have a smart playlist for every album). which takes a while, but beats losing all your songs. and for future reference. once you done. click export library, and save it somewhere easy to find, then burn that library file to disk/stash it on ur ipod as a file. or whatever. that way if it happens again, you dont have to create your playlists. as you can just import the library. thats the manual way of doing it. however theres a few programs kicking around that claim to be able to retrieve the playlists off the ipod. although the one i had never worked. endofreak
That sharepod utility is pretty darn good. A friend asked me to put some tunes onto his Ipod. I'd never used one before and didn't want to fanny around with Itunes. Sharepod was straight forward to use and I didn't have to worry about auto syncing, creating playlists or any of the other shite associated with Itunes. endofreak
I dont understand what everyones gripe with iTunes is, its always worked fine for me, and its not hard to understandIt's just personal preference really. I personally prefer being able to go into my music folder, highlighting all the music I want and then dropping it onto a removable disc. This works better for me because I have already spent time sorting my music into folders as I have downloaded it.
Has anyone seen my shoe?
Yeah I suppose that element can be annoying but its barely any different.Just all the folders are in one program
