Simon
- "Where you get a clifford from?""xyz shop"- "Where did that cake come from?""Well..."1 1/2 cup King Arthur flour1 cup sugar3-4 tablespoons cocoa1 teaspoon baking soda1 teaspoon salt6 tablespoons vegetable oil or melted butter1 teaspoon vanilla extract or dark rum1 tablespoon white vinegar1 cup cold waterPreheat oven to 350°F.Sift dry ingredients (flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda and salt) directly into an ungreased 8" square cake pan. (If you decide not to sift ingredients, cake won't be as light in texture, but will still be good - just be sure that the dry ingredients are mixed well).Make 3 holes or in the dry mixture which is in the pan.Into the first hole, pour the oil or melted butter.Into the second hole, pour the vanilla extract or rum.Into the third hole, pour the vinegar.Drizzle the cup of cold water over the entire cake. Stir the mixture together using a fork until combined evenly.Bake cake at 350°F for 35-40 minutes.Run a knife along edges to loosen cake from pan after cooled, or cut into squares and serve directly from pan. Frost with whipped cream or chocolate frosting, if desired, or serve as is.For a richer cake, beat one egg with enough water to measure 1 cup (and substitute for 1 cup water).Tip: To save on dishes, bake cake in a disposable aluminum foil pan. This cake is nearly as simple to prepare as a cake mix! Great fun for kids, too.Don't really see the comparison there, but heh, you got your answer. 011001000110010101110010
If you buy a clifford one, they come out and fit it for you. You want a turbo timer really for performance turbo cars, keeps the turbo running while the oil cools down. Its pretty bad for the turbo is the boiling hot oil cools on the stationary turbo. A friend of mine has one on his skyline, and he gets some dodgy looks when he parks up and walks away with it still ticking over!
Andy P
Just to add, its illegal to leave an unattended vehicle running on a public highway. My car is a Volvo and the lights are constantly on (DRL's) when the ignition is on. When I park and leave the car running on the turbo timer I ALWAYS get someone say "you've left your lights on mate".... Thanks, but did you not notice THE BLOODY ENGINE RUNNING? And I hate people that flash me to tell me I've got my lights on during the day. I'm fed up of it now, so I usually thank their kind efforts to blind me with the finger.Andy
Gavyn.
can i ask do you leave your car running when you've got a turbo just so it can slow down while still being lubricated by the engine? then when it's slowed enough does the engine stop? just curious.i'm sure bobby d's evo used to run on the turbo timer i think we just parked got out and the engine was still running i don't think it stopped until he locked it! Andy P
Normally its not really needed, just so long as I don't drive like too much of a twat for the final few miles. The time it really comes in handy is when I'm late for work and I have to thrash it all the way there (most mornings then...) and I've not got time to sit about and wait for it to cool before I kill the ignition.Currently my timer is on a set time rather than automaticlly adjusted by the AFR because my car runs Titania sensors rather than Zirconia dioxide sensors. My sensor signal varies between 1~5 volts whereas my timer requires between 0~1v. I'll have to get a wideband sensor fitted to the new downpipe. That probably means absolutely nothing to most on here but ohwell...I cant remember if I've answered your question now...Andy P
