Will a different freewheel like a tensile solve this?B.) Go for the 128mm x 68mm BBC.) RobinJI
Just change the freewheel, I'm not sure about a tensile, but a try-all/monty should do the trick. The shorter the BB the better because the chain line will be better, which is always a good thing. Most mods use 110mm hubs and 128mm BBs, which leads to a terrible chain line to say the least. Edited February 7, 2007 by Dont you Just Hate it When... Mark W
However, it'll give him 2mm more clearance (potentially) with his freewheel, which is all good. However, I'd reckon going for both options would be a good idea - Tensiles are really nice freewheels, and with a 128mm BB it definitely won't rub. Tensiles are a mm or 2 narrower than ACS's, so it may work with the current BB, so you could always get that then add the BB in as well if it's still too short

lego
Tensile sorted it no more rubbing and using the STD BB.
