hey lads, just wondering if any of you have one of the monty 221ti wheels, as i need a new back wheel really and like the look of the ti wheels, however £250 for one wheel seems abit steep. Just wondered if they are worth it? Cheers Josh

To be honest Josh i don't think any one can afford one at that price! But for 250 quid i must be strong, how about getting an echo or tryall rim on a deng or profile for that price and get the ti nipples (haha i like that word  )

DON'T PUT A PROFILE IN A MONTY!!!! end of, unless you want this frame to snap as well josh!

I say get the ti hub £65 , try-all rim £35, tarty build £10 and mutiny spokes £10

then if you ever want to get a rear disc you can and thats a nice wheel (Y)

cheers

I thought that profiles were wide than the Monty frames and that was one of the reasons they snapped so easily.

Sorry if it isn't a problem just trying to be helpful.

cheers

no its not worth it as youy are paying an exstra £130 for the spokes, and normal steal ones are stroger anyway, buy the parts seperate it works out cheeper with the steal spokes, hope this helps Ant

Its not a 2007 wheel, they have white rims, red nipples and only have one side titanium spokes.

If you want the Monty wheel then:

221ti rim - £28

221ti Hub - £68

Mutiny Spokes - £10

Total of £106

And if you really want it to look authentic DT Swiss coloured aluminium nipples are 10p each, so £3.20 Probably have to ask the LBS and you could get the spokes half black and half silver to look like the 2007 Monty wheels.

Also I heard a while ago about ti spokes being something like £1 each, so that's only be an extra £22, although apparently they feel flexy, so probably would be better off with steel ones if you ever want dual disc. Guess that's why they only did one side ti on the 07's.

The hub on Tarty is not the 07 221 ti one i think as they are not in country yet. The hub on tarty is also 36 hole and the rim 32 hole. To be honest I would go and give cleanbikes or tartybikes a ring and see if they can find out when the 07 221 TI hubs are in.

Matt

Edit-The ones on cleanbikes are 06 and have titanium spokes hence the price tag.
