nb88
My mate wants a new set of wheels for his hybrid bike, and on the internet theres wheels that say fit 700c tyres? What does this mean?Cheers
guineasmithpig
700c (centimetres) is the diameter of the wheel/tyre combo. same as you get 26inch wheels and tyres for mountain bikes. if his tyres say 700 x 35c or something at the moment, then those wheels should be fine. just beware that you do get racing bike wheels in those sizes too, which use much thinner tyres, and wouldn't be suitable for most hybrids
Haz
Does it not mean 700 circumference. 700cm is 7 metres, and if it were diameter, they would be some damn big wheels!
TomR
To give you an idea the circumference of a 26" wheel is only 2000mm though.
