wont water rust parts of the break? :S I'm sick of paying 10 pounds for a bleed at the shop (N) I'm going for the braided hoses (Y)

Thanks

Seb

Why do you keep paying for a bleed? If they do it right it should last a fair while before needing another bleed. Or is your reference to braided hosing a sign that you keep damaging the cables and needing something more durable?

Water can only rust it while theres air in there, and besides... their aluminium so they dont rust they oxidise. All water does is allows your break to freeze in extremely low temperatures and leaves the pistons a bit dry (maggie oil keeps them lubed) but its nothing a drop of 3 in one oil every 2-3 weeks can't fix.

where do you drop the oil?? sorry all the bleeding is new for me!!

Without the pads inserted, pull the lever so the pistons poke out. Put a drop on each piston then pull the lever 10-15 times and put another drop on the pistons again. Let go of the lever and wipe off any excess oil with a clean dry cloth. Then re-insert the pads. Then just put a drop around the lever piston.
